ok done , installed new spreadsheet version 1270 , sc freezes when i try to add second custom study

Now that we have the log we see what study was causing the problem and it will be corrected in the next release.

This was the problem study function:
"Slope of MA34 (two stage)"

SC 1271 - new spreadsheet

#2 seems that windows position isn't remember ,each time are put in Cascade

This will be solved in the next release.


The Message Log file attached is not relevant to either of these.

#2 means i had several charts ( not detached )ordered as i like , for each chartbooks.
every time i opened SC charts were in the position that i had put before.
now with version 1271 every time i open SC the position of the charts aren't remembered and i find them stacked like if i had selected Window->Cascade.

sorry message log attached refers to SC freezing when add custom study , problem is still present with 1271

+1 Been with Sierra/Transact/Infinity for years, until v1268 never had a problem with chart freezing when adding a study until this week. Froze about 5x, had to do task mgr to close. Have added no studies or done anything different since loading 1268. Thanks in advance for seeing what bug wiggled in.

In response to post #30, we understand what the problem is with the window state and this will be corrected in the next release.

We looked at the Message Log related to the freezing problem when using the Add Custom Study button and we are not observing any problem from this log at all. We recommend restarting Sierra Chart and try again and attach a new log.

In response to post #31, update to the latest prerelease with Help >> Download Prerelease.

If that does not solve the problem, then start a new thread describing the issue precisely so we understand what it is because otherwise, we do not know if you what you are experiencing is the same as what has been reported here.

Also for the record we have not been able to reproduce the problem with Sierra Chart freezing when using the Add Custom Study button.

SC 1272 -> window state and error in message log resolved,thanks

sadly ,problem with custom studies persist,as before only with new spreadsheet version.
attached there are 2 message log :
2015-07-18 064933 refers to new spreadsheet version .
2015-07-18 072113 refers to old spreadsheet version that it has never blocked when custom studies are applied.
hope it helps to resolve this annoying issue.

Neither of these Message Logs indicate a freezing problem at the moment in time when the Add Custom Study button is pressed.


Describe the particular problem that is occurring in your case currently and the steps that lead up to it and exactly the step just before it occurs.

It sounds like you are experiencing a different problem and it may be a problem with one of the other DLL files you have. Therefore, refer to help topic 17:

For the record, you are using 20 custom DLL files when most of our users are using one that we provide. It is likely the problem is one of those other DLL files and the issue is not something within our control.

Please consult with help topic 17 before posting any further Message Logs because those are not indicating any problem.
