Whenever I load an options chart and I bring in dom columns such as pulling and stacking the computer goes into an almost immediate freeze, why? And, is there a way to prevent this? Thanks

From our perspective we do not know the reason for this. Must be a high CPU usage condition. When you notice this, check the CPU usage of the Sierra Chart process in the operating system task manager. However, this should not be causing the computer to freeze. System freeze conditions usually would be related to File I/O. So we recommend putting Sierra Chart on its own solid-state drive: High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.29 - Solid State Drives / SSD It might be related to this: High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.23 - Chart Tick Size and Volume at Price Processing Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Why would there be for example a very large number in the stack/pull column like "9.2578932-316e" What does this mean? I also see these types of numbers in the recent traded volume columns.

We need to do a remote assistance session, with you to look at this. Something is very wrong. This should never be occurring. What symbol does this occur with?

It happens only when I load specific option strikes, why only then? I can load 100 regular charts with all the DOM columns I use like recent volume and stacking/pulling. Only when I load specific option contracts and the data begins to appear it begins to freeze and I have to basically cont-alt-del and restart the program. And this occurs even when I have no studies on any charts.

EW1Q24 P5500.FUT_OPT.CME...Thing is its best to open a few strikes at once because you do not know which will show the data. Why shouldn't this happen, and what does it mean about the numbers generating pulling data for these options?

Give us some time to look into this. We are not getting the right Tick Size for the option. We have to find out why that is happening.

We have to revise the time on this. This is most likely to take us weeks. Not sure why we set a day or two. It is going to take time. Do not use any market data columns, on an options chart. We are also not able to reproduce any problem like you are experiencing. So we are not sure about that. Just do not enable any Chart DOM columns for options other than the basic market depth only and then you should be fine . Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. We apologize, this is a very specialized issue and we cannot allocate time to it right now. It is very involved to analyze and work on. We simply cannot provide any solution right now. We see your account is expiring, so at this time we recommend not renewing.

Can we do a remote assistance session with you now to look into this on your side. There are things about this issue we are not understanding. There should not be any excessive memory use or unusual problems with pulling and stacking columns. We did check on this now. Make sure your current telephone number is here: https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ManageAccountInfo We still have the Tick Size issue to look into and that requires very in-depth analysis and server updates, but we need to understand why there is a problem with pulling and stacking columns in your case. That should be solvable. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point.
