The performance issues discussed here New spreadsheet functionality same performance as the old CLR version? do they only relate to spreadsheet studies? Meaning, when no spreadsheet studies are being used, is the performence in non-CLR and in the CLR versions the same?

If a spreadsheet study is being used in the non-CLR version, is there an objective way to verify if the performance is as good as in the CLR version?

The performance issues we have seen only apply to spreadsheets which are part of the non-CLR version and they only apply to certain kinds of formulas. The testing of spreadsheets using some simple formulas in the non-CLR version has shown to be much faster than the CLR version.

In other areas overall the non-CLR version is faster than the CLR version.

We are still figuring out how to do performance testing of the spreadsheet you have given. And we have not had much time to spend on your spreadsheet. And in the end we will not use it for performance testing because it is far too complicated, but analyze it and to determine an appropriate structured test that we can use for performance testing.

So even developing a test and determining where we can improve performance requires extensive work. We also will not make any reference to the CLR version because it is not a reliable benchmark. But instead have a fresh look at everything and make performance improvements where we can.
