I have changed nothing. I have also tried to update to "current" and "pre-release" versions, thinking that this might have been a problem with an older version. This has not worked. Sierra Chart lags when opening windows (Activity Log, Balance Window), moving the mouse cursor, clicking buttons (like buy market, flatten, etc.), and more. It sometimes hangs for a few seconds. Charts randomly "Download Historical Data" and hang there for quite some time. I know there are connectivity issues going on but I'm not sure if this is the cause (is it polling for data before it updates the screen?). Platform is buggy, slow, and unusable today. I'm not sure if this will resolve itself or if I have to do anything to fix it. It was working fine yesterday. I'm curious on what to do next. I don't want to risk trading with the platform in this state. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-05-30 10:54:46

This is a general performance issue on your side. We cannot know what the cause is. Go through the items in help topic 30: High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often Could also be caused by a filesystem issue. All kinds of things can be a problem. Generally what we would recommend in this case is to not use your existing Chartbooks and just work with the symbols and charts that you need by opening a new ones. Thanks for trying. It's working on a laptop so it has to be my PC. I recently applied Windows Update so maybe that is the issue. Re-installing Sierra Chart on the affected PC and using new charts/chartbooks did not solve the problem. Not sure what else to do but maybe it will resolve itself. CPU usage is minimal. Installed on NVME SSD. Thanks for the reply. |
