Setting up 2 Instances/Trading Arrangements in Sierra Charts

Hi John, I have successfully set everything up. I have SierraCharts Installation - Teton/Denali using Dorman Trading as the broker. SierraCharts2 Installation - Rithmic using TakeProfitTrader as the Prop firm. I have 2 individual installations of Sierra charts in separate folders on the C drive. Workbooks are unique to each installation. My accounts with Rithmic/Takeprofittrader and Dorman trading are all working fine. I just can't get any new data through to Sierra Charts2 workbook for the Rithmic/Takeprofittrader installation. There is no live data coming through. Can you please help? I do realise that I need to use the Denali data feed. This installation of Sierra Charts (SierraCharts2) is configured as follows; Global Settings > Data/Trade Service Settings > Current Selected Service (List): Rithmic Direct - DTC (trading) Global Settings > Data/Trade Service Settings > Server (List): Rithmic Paper Trading-Chicago Area-Aggregated along with my new Trading username and Trading password - both which are recognised by the Rithmic Trader Pro app Thanks Rob Original post: Setting up 2 Instances/Trading Arrangements in Sierra Charts Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-05-15 16:50:37

In the installation that is not working, make sure the option for "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support For Sierra Chart Data Feeds" is set to "Yes". If it is set to "No", then change it to "Yes", close that window by selecting OK, then select "File >> Reconnect". That should resolve the issue for you. Otherwise, if it is already set to "Yes", then we would need to see the Message Log from that installation by following these instructions: Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log: Message Log: Clearing the Message Log Close all of the Chartbooks with "File >> Close All Chartbooks". Open a single chart for the symbol you have an issue with through "File >> Find Symbol". Tell us that symbol of the chart. Tell us about *one* symbol only. Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect". Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed". After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions: Support Board Posting Information: How to Post Your Message Log (Required In Some Cases) We will then determine what the problem is. John, the code is ESM4.CME. I have followed your instructions and opened a standard graph within SC. From my observation, this graph appears to be live and is updating. My chartbook isn't. I have uploaded a screenshot to show the last data update May 7th, hope this helps. We see a few symbols that are not correct for Rithmic in your log. In particular we see at least one chart that is trying to get data for "ESM24-CME". That symbol needs to be changed to "ESM4.CME". To update the symbols, open the chartbook and select "Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service". This will take care of the above. But, there are also other symbols for CFDs and FOREX that we recommend removing from that chartbook as well, as Rithmic tends to have trouble with any symbol they do not recognize. So items like "USOIL", "XAUUSD", "AAPL-NQTV" should be removed. If you want to chart these symbols, then we would recommend doing so in the installation that is connected to Teton, as that one can handle these. Or, you could install a 3rd Sierra Chart just for those items. We are not sure what you mean by "is it possible to have live data feed for the SIM in Sierra charts?". Sorry to be painful, but I have one more question. b) For the Denali/Teton SC installation I am running. When changing from the Micro version of Crude Oil (MCLN24_FUT_CME) to the Mini version (CLN24_FUT_CME) I am only receiving market profile data for the last 11 days. When I simply change back to the Mini, without changing any settings, I receive 12 months. The other chart in the chartbook is ES S&P500 (ESM24_FUT_CME & MESM24_FUT_CME). When I carry out the same process of moving from micro to mini it works fine, I get 12 months on each symbol. The settings are almost identical as the market profile for CL is a copy of the ES market profile chart with some amendments like the symbol. There has been a new contract rollover on CL today but I've never experienced this before.
