Good Morning Support, As of this morning loading up v2393 of Sierra I am receiving the following message: The Sierra Chart version you are running is no longer supported due to a technical issue with this version, it being incompatible with server services, or it is a version that Sierra Chart support no longer provides support for. A request for the installer to install the latest version has been made. The installer will begin when the download is complete. If there is any problem with the request/download for the installer you can restart it. Refer to Fast Update.
The platform will then refuse to connect to a Data Service "(not enabled on package)". Log excerpts: Usage end date: 2023-12-22 | 2023-12-08 12:42:16.283
Usage time has ended. DOMS is in Free mode. Features are restricted. | 2023-12-08 12:42:16.283 Connect to Data Feed | Service Package does not support this function or account is expired. Select 'Help >> Account Control Panel' for account management. | 2023-12-08 12:42:20.306 I have confirmed I have credit, and current versions of Sierra are connecting fine. Assuming this is not in error, and it is the intent to force users to upgrade from v2393 can we please get the option to use CQG for Market Data in current versions? Alternatively, as it is the last version that supports CQG Data, can we please get access to v2393 back? I totally understand the issues you guys have had with CQG and support overhead, especially with Historical data (an area Denali outperforms competitors). Perhaps users could be presented with a clear message, that they need to acknowledge, that no support will ever be provided for use of CQG Data? Cheers! |

We have looked into this. And you can use that version with CQG still. But we really do not recommend it because there are numerous trading improvements which you should be taking advantage of when using CQG. It is actually our intent to discontinue that version when using CQG, and this really should have been done by now. This is the system notification about this: - 2023-04-02: Important Technical Notice: A required update of Sierra Chart is required for users of the CQG trading platform service before April 30, 2023 to version 2458 or higher. To update, refer to the Fast Update instructions.
We just have not gotten around to disabling the version. Now this is a reminder actually. The way that you can use that version is you set the service to CQG and you restart. But as we said, we really need to disable access. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I missed that Technical Note entirely, thanks for letting me know. I have updated to 2458 and it is now functioning fine with CQG. Thanks again, happy holidays! |
