Hello Support,

I noticed today that I can't select nor merge TPO Profiles any more.

I have restarted the platforms for no avail. I'm currently running SC Version 2517.

Thanks.

We are not aware of any problem in that version with this functionality. It has not changed in a very long time.

Hello,

I have been waiting for the weekend to upgrade my platforms as I don't like to do it on trading days.

With version 2526 the problem persists.

However, after some experimentation, I realized that I can merge the TPOs as long as I use the right-click menu.

Up to now, I used to select (click on) the profile I wanted to merge and then I used an assigned shortcut to merge it.

In fact, what is different now than before is that I can't select any profile, so this way the keyboard shortcut doesn't work.

When I say "I can't select any profile" I'm referring to this:

Time Price Opportunity (TPO) Profile Charts: Keyboard Shortcuts for Splitting and Merging

Please advise.

Check to ensure that your Keyboard Shortcuts are still present for merging TPO profiles. Not being able to select a profile implies that the keyboard shortcuts are not setup.

Also, we just tried this on version 2524 and it is working correctly - that is, as long as there is a keyboard shortcut setup, you can left click on a TPO profile and it will show as selected and you can then use that keyboard shortcut.

Hello John,
Thank you for your reply.

Yes, you are correct. It was in fact a problem with the keyboard shortcuts.

Not being able to select a profile implies that the Not being able to select a profile implies that the keyboard shortcuts are not setup. are not setup.

I wasn't aware of that, I thought it was also possible to select the TPOs even without configured keyboard shortcuts.

What happened was that when I upgraded my platforms, I upgraded the sub instances from the main instance through the "new instance" option. As the main instance doesn't have TPOs keyboards shortcuts configured, the upgrade erased those keyboards shortcuts from the secondary instances too.

Now I know that I should upgrade individually, to avoid messing up with the sub instances configs.

Thank you for your assistance.

Upgrading your version should not have caused the Keyboard Shortcuts to be overridden for sub-instances. The only time the data from the main instance is transferred to a sub-instance is the first time the sub-instance is created.

John,
Thank you for your reply.

Upgrading your version should not have caused the Keyboard Shortcuts to be overridden for sub-instances. The only time the data from the main instance is transferred to a sub-instance is the first time the sub-instance is created.

However it is the only explanation I've encountered for those keyboard shortcuts just disappearing in the two sub instances I have under that main instance.

Until that upgrade, I have always done the upgrades one by one directly on the sub instances and I had never experienced this kind of issues.

This time I have made the upgrades from the "File / New Instance" option and those keyboard shortcuts just disappeared, along with a few alerts specific from those sub instances.

Too much coincidence, don't you think?

What you are doing is not something we expected, although it should not be a problem. Generally, the idea is to exit from all installations, update the main instance, and then when you start a sub-instance the version from the Main Instance will be copied to the sub-instance.

But again, only the executable is transferred in this way, it should not override any settings.

We just tested this to make sure, at least for the Keyboard Shortcuts, and updating the Main Instance first and then opening a New Instance for an already existing folder with specialized Keyboard Shortcuts, did not change the keyboard shortcuts.

Coincidence - yes. Cause - unknown.
