Hi, I made request to AMP to move my account from CQG to Teton last week. I've already switched to Denali. AMP said they have many other Sierra Chart accounts waiting for the same and they are waiting for permissions from Sierra Chart's side to allow us on Teton.
Please advise. Thank you.

I also request Teton last week and still don't have any news...

No, permission does not come from Sierra Chart.

The only thing that we can think of is that may be they are referring to your Sierra Chart Service Package . You need service package 10,11 or 12 to use Teton order routing. Although actually you can probably use service package 3 or 5 and use delayed data with Teton. That probably works as well. We would have to check.

Have you logged in to your AMP account and submitted a Live Trading Setup Request, or did you just send them an email?

Yes, here's what it says from my AMP acct:

Existing Setup - Reactivate/Update  Sierra Teton (Order Routing)  04/05/2023 08:56 AM  xxx54  xxxxxrico xxxxon  Pending

and I sent a follow up email, and I talked to them on the phone

I just submitted my request today, so if you're pending, I'll probably be pending, as well.

This is probably what's happening: AMP just started their beta test of Teton about a month ago and they probably only allowed a limited number of traders to switch to Teton until their test is finished.

Since we're late to the party, we'll just have to wait it out.

Hi Sierra, nothing moving regarding using Teton with AMP. Shows not enabled still; my request for transfer from CQG to Teton was made on 4/5/23. (see prior post above)

Could someone from Sierra reach out to AMP and find out what the integration problem is?

AMP is saying it's Sierra fault. AMP is listed as a supporting broker with Teton on Sierra's website.

Right now both are pointing fingers at each other with many paying customers caught in the middle.

Should all of us that are at AMP just switch back to CQG for order routing and forget Teton?

This AMP Teton problem is bordering on insanity.

AMP support refuses to respond to messages asking them to reinstate my CQG routing credentials. So I just went to the AMP portal to submit a new request to change to CQG routing, but... NO... we can't submit a new request because there is a pending request to change to Teton. So because of AMP's ineptitude, we are trapped in limbo -- no way to go forward... and no way to go back... and no way to trade while trapped in limbo.

I was in the same boat. I requested to switch to Teton, it got initially rejected due to a same day trade with CQG routing. I resubmitted the "live setup request/change." Waited a day, then chatted with AMP reps who said email. I emailed without a response. I chatted again, and it was recommended to switch back to CQG routing. The AMP rep kindly immediately cancelled the existing live setup request so I could do a live setup change back to CQG which they handled within minutes.

However, this was all done during normal business hours. I don't think AMP is ready to move folks to Teton, despite the option for setup being there. My 2 cents.

I just sent my second message to AMP support asking them, again, to cancel my Teton request so I can go back to CQG until they get their Teton ducks in a row.

No this is not the case.

There is an additional margin setting they want for overnight margin rather than using the standard margins or day trading margins overnight, but this does not prevent AMP users from using Teton. And for the record no other clearing firm has ever required this. And there is no order routing system that even supports this kind of capability without the use of upload files. Teton is the only one that natively supports three different time ranges for margins, at least that is what we understand.

This AMP Teton problem is bordering on insanity.

Yes this is not good.

Update: AMP finally responded. They canceled my Teton request and I am back on CQG routing.

What a nightmare this has been!

It is exactly what they told me. They are clearly blaming Sierra regardless of the actual holdup.

Can someone at Sierra please reach out to AMP to solve this integration problem for Sierra's customers? The solution is obviously out of Sierra's subscriber's control.

They are forcing us away from Sierra's Teton; this should be of utmost concern to Sierra upper management.

Re post #12.

I can attest to that.

I am an AMP/Teton beta tester.

But I have not actually placed a Live trade yet as I live in New Zealand so most of my trading is during the US overnight sessions.
When I got setup on Teton (I was one of the first with AMP) I noticed that Teton/AMP was applying Overnight margins when AMP normally offer Day margins in the overnight session (except for 4 days a month due to economic annoucements).

When I pointed this out to AMP, they said they would have to talk to SC/Teton to have this functionality added.
So since then (about 3 to 4 weeks ago) I have not traded/tested Teton.

This functionality (if that is the correct phrase) seems to have been there with CQG where AMP effortlessly seemed to be able to provide Day margins in the overnight session and then on 4 days a month, switch back to Overnight/Maintenance margins during the overnight sessions.

If this is true, why is it that AMP provides day margins, overnight with CQG but they do not want to do this with Teton. Especially being Teton has very advanced risk management as compared to CQG including auto liquidation which CQG has never had.

Furthermore, in all of our experience working with various clearing firms, when reduced margins are offered, they do them 24 hours a day. It is not common that margins are reduced during regular trading hours and increased at other times.

And this seems to be the very same policy with AMP. In any case, Teton is very advanced, and can accomplish what AMP wants to do. So no problem doing what they ultimately want.

OK, but when will this get solved?

We, your paying subscribers, who believe in using Teton are in limbo. When will someone at Sierra reach out to AMP to fix the problem?

All this finger pointing doesn't move the football one inch.

Bottom line is that Teton will not work for AMP customers currently despite what Sierra's website has written.

Does Sierra advise we ditch Teton for CQG?

This is fully up to AMP.

This is not about finger-pointing. Even suggesting this, in such a matter like this is not even logical. We cannot be responsible even in the slightest, for AMP decision-making.

AMP is fully responsible for this. Not us at all.

We do have a call with them today. What that means for AMP customers we do not know.

AMP is listed on our Teton order routing page because they have requested it. Maybe we should remove that. But they will then tell us to put it back.

But we do feel, like AMP is giving everyone the impression that their support for Teton will be soon, when it is not the case at all. This has been going on for months.

Based upon the call, we have the impression that many accounts will be set up on Teton, this evening. That is what they told us.

Thank you Sierra Chart! The call you put into AMP worked; Teton is now working.

I apologize if my frustration manifested in my prior diction.

Finally... someone is up an running on Teton!

Let us know how it goes. If you don't have any issues, I may try again at the end of the week.

I'll add to this. Mine showed completed today and I was also able to connect with the Teton / AMP settings in Sierra. However, trade balance showed zero for my account. And if trying to place a trade was getting "Teton CME Order Routing (Order reject). Info: Trading is disabled" messages in my trade logs. I reached out to AMP and this is the response:

"we want to see the balances load properly tonight. then once confirmed we will send you a trading enable notice tomorrow during US trading hours"

So just an FYI, you may show that you have a completed request, however it may not be fully enabled. So they are working on it at least.

Edit: Also to add, my account balance is showing up now in Sierra. I let AMP know that it is matching my previous statement from AMP. So getting closer.

I don't get it, AMP literally tell me yesterday that they think it is best if I switch back to CQG, only to then enable the pending accounts that evening. Unbelievable.....!

Another update. Just received email that trading is now enabled for Teton and the following message regarding margin information etc... for anyone interested

Risk Management Differences from our standard CQG, Rithmic and TT

How Sierra Chart is currently programmed, if your Account is Under-Margined at the End of Day Session Margin Check (3:55pm CST-Chicago), it will CLOSE/Liquidate ALL the Open Positions. It will NOT trim/Reduce positions is will CLOSE ALL Positions and Cancel ALL working Orders for your ENTIRE account.

You must manage meeting the required Exchange Margin Requirements before the End of Day Session Margin Check (3:55pm CST-Chicago) to make sure your Open Positions meet the Exchange Margin Requirements to avoid ALL your Open positions from being CLOSED/Liquidated.

Here is the schedule, so you can properly manage your positions:
At 3:45pm CST-Chicago, the margin requirements on Sierra will be updated to the Exchange Maintenance Margins Requirement (amount required to carry the position past the daily close).
At 3:55pm CST-Chicago, the End of Day Session Margin Check will run and any accounts that Do NOT meet the Exchange Maintenance Margins Requirement – ALL OPEN Positions will be CLOSED/Liquidated and ALL Working Orders will be cancelled.
This will provide you approx. 9 minutes (3:45pm-3:54pm CST), to review your Account and make any adjustments you need to meet the Exchange Maintenance Margins Requirement.

You will see the Exchange Maintenance Margins Requirement in your Sierra Chart Column – MarginRequirement. This is the column that Sierra Chart will use during the End of Day Session Margin Check at (3:55pm CST-Chicago). If your AccountValue (NLV) is less than the MarginRequirement it will CLOSE ALL Positions and Cancel ALL working Orders for your ENTIRE account.

If the Net Liquidity of an account reaches a Daily Loss Limit of 80%, open positions will attempt to be liquidated. Clients are responsible for monitoring their positions and are financially responsible for any losses generated by open positions in the account. AMP retains its right to liquidate positions in any account, at its sole discretion, with no forewarning. If the Risk Desk is forced to liquidate positions in any account, due to either 80% daily loss limit reached or to meet Initial Margin set by the exchange 5 minutes before the daily trading session close, there will be a $25 per contract for Full Size Contracts or $2.50 per contract for Micro Contracts liquidation fee charged.

This above process is an automated process built natively within Sierra Chart. As with all trading, there are many reasons why the above automated risk management process could not work as expected or desired (including but not limited to market conditions or bad information). If there are any failures to the above risk management process, you are still responsible for all trading margin requirements, trading PnL and debit balances. If you do not accept the trading risk or the risk management processed explained above, please do not place any live orders/trades.

Margin Differences from our standard CQG, Rithmic and TT

During the US overnight session (from 5pm until 7:45am CST-Chicago), the margin requirements will be 25% of the Exchange Maintenance Margins Requirement.

At (7:45am CST-Chicago), AMP standard Day Trading Margins will be applied until (3:45pm CST-Chicago).
