Hi, I have read so much about this throughout the site and I am still confused. Please don't take this the wrong way, but it's like you are going in circles with this whole thing. You say I need denali exchange fee, then I have to pay cme fee, then cme doesn't consider eval accounts live funded accounts, then I have to use live order routing via teton, and the permission denied thing is confusing me. Bottom line, I signed up for Apex eval account, it is not a live account, but an eval account. I want to place trades using the Sierra Chart DOM, as I have signed up for multiple apex accounts and need to utilize the trade allocator. I have to keep rtrader pro open when using sierra charts. I have been in apex eval before using motive wave and ATAS via the plugin with rtrader pro. No problem there, I have never had to pay an exchange fee to the cme during eval accounts - Why would I have to using Sierra Charts? So I have tried connecting to SC Charts , and it connects but there is a delay and I can't get charts to download the data anyway. When going to Rithmic Direct it also won't download the charts and it won't let me keep Rtrader pro open at the same time. There has got to be a way around this without paying exchange fees for eval accounts. Again, not once in my life have I had to pay exchange fees during evaluation for a prop firm. Please help, sorry for the confusion, but I don't know what to do. If not I just spent $46 for no reason. Again I love your platform, one of my favorites, but after the war between sierra and rithmic, I have no idea what to do to make it work. I have read all the info that's been recommended. |

You can use the Rithmic data, but it is not our recommendation. And yes, we wish the situation with the CME Group was much simpler, but it is what it is. -- First, make sure that you are connected to your Rithmic account. If you have not already done so, follow these instructions: Rithmic Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions Then, open your chartbooks and select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service to make sure you have the correct symbols for Rithmic. You should be getting the data and able to trade with this setup. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

I'm sorry but that didn't help at all. You didn't really address my issue. As I said I have to keep Rtrader pro open, as soon as I connect to Rithmic Direct on Sierra chart, it closes rtrader pro. And even when I stay connected in sierra chart only and leave rtrader pro closed, the charts won't load, it still says permission denied. The DOM shows the four apex accounts I have, but the charts don't load and I need them in order to trade. Also, I realize I don't know the actual underlying issue, but not sure how it's the CME's fault. Motvewave, NInjatrader, ATAS, Investor RT, Tradeovate, Multicharts, etc.... All work with rtrader pro, there is only one charting platform I know of that won't work with Rtrader pro and that is sierra charts. Clearly it's possible to work with rtrader pro, for whatever reason something being programmed a certain way disallows sierra and rtrader pro to work together. Just create a checkbox that says allow plugin for rtrader pro when starting sierra like all the other platforms do. |

You have to set up a work around account. there is no other way. I tried, I trade apex everyday via sierra. Steps were, Set up personal acct via Stage5, fund personal with few hundred, this gets you set with cme. Then you simply dont use that acct, then just connect your rithmic ID/pass under the accounts. Your apex accounts show up immediately once connected to rithmic. I can have Rtrader open and sierra no problems. I trade both funded and multiple evals using the trade copier also, no issue. You're trying to get around it without paying, but thats not the option unfortunately. I'm sorry but that didn't help at all.

Hi, thanks for the response. So unlike all the other platforms out there in order to trade on eval with sierra I have to pay the exchange fees. I don't have to when trading the same eval account right now with Motivewave or ATAS, or any other for that matter. But the trade allocator helps a lot when trading four accounts. I just wish sierra would program their stuff to where there isn't a problem just as there are no problems with the other charting companies. Maybe I'll have better luck convincing those companies to create a trade copier/allocator vs convincing sierra to program their stuff so that it works with rtrader pro as the others do.

Actually, Rithmic redid their connectivity to Sierra Chart, so the connection we use was put together by Rithmic. And it does NOT use RTrader. So we can't speak to any issues with RTrader running when trying to access Rithmic from Sierra Chart. You would have to ask Rithmic about this. As to the CME Group responsibility, they are the ones that have the "non-professional" requirement such that you have to have a Live, Funded, Futures Trading Account, that is NOT a Prop Firm account. This complicates the process very much. So much so, that we spend probably half our support time dealing with issues related to this. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Hi, thanks for the info. Not sure why they(CME/Rithmic) chose to do this for sierra only and not other companies. It just makes it more difficult and as you say half your time is spend dealing with this issue.

Is it too late to get a refund, since I paid yesterday and as you can see, the only reason I signed up for Sierra I can't even utilize it. I don't want it to be a waste of $46.

Post #4 gives you information on how to work around the issue. Basically, it means getting the data from us, rather than Rithmic. If you would rather get a refund, let us know for sure. If you do want a refund and want it refunded back to your card, then please open an "Account Support Ticket" at the following link: https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=SupportTickets For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

has literally nothing to do with r-trader, I dont use a plugin, and never even have it open. All you have to do is open a seperate personal account. takes one day. then you have full access and simply sign in with you regular rithmic ID and password. its really not that hard.

Since this issue is related to mine i´m gonna borrow the thread: I´m also trying an eval account and they use Rithmic. I´m going trough the "easy solution", already have the account at Edge Clear/Ironbeam. Will i be able to trade with rithmic account and use the data from Sierra all within the sierra char program? |

I just signed up for an Apex Eval account and at first had issues with the "Permission Denied" error, but turns out I had to download and setup RTrader Pro and sign their agreements first, before connecting to Rithmic Date feed within Sierra Chart. Now all of that seems to working fine. However, I'm having the problem of RTrader Pro logging me out because I'm logged into Sierra Chart. It says "You have been logged out because another program has logged in with your credentials and would cause your session count to exceed its maximum". Any help would be appreciated. |

FIGURED IT OUT I had to turn off market data on the R Trader Log-in screen. That way I'm just receiving the account data. |

FIGURED IT OUT
I had to turn off market data on the R Trader Log-in screen. That way I'm just receiving the account data. This is not necessary, and may make it so some account data like trailing threshold etc does not update in realtime in Rtrader. To login to both RTrader and SC and get market data in both, use Denali data in SC, and don't login to Rithmic market data in SC connection settings. |

No, it’s fine. You can use Sierra Chart with prop firms, at least with Apex like I do. It works wonderfully and I use Sierra’s trade copier, which is also fantastic and reliable. I believe you are going to have to pay for data, one way or the other. I do not think you have to have a brokerage account though. |

Turning off the market data in Rithmic is very much necessary IF one wants to run R-Trader Pro at the same time as they are trading their evaluation account. If you don't disable it, you will get bounced out of Sierra Chart repeatedly because it's trying to pull data from two platforms at the same time, which is not allowed per the CME. I trade multiple Apex, LeeLoo, and Bulenox PA accounts daily, I run 3 separate copies of R-Trader Pro, all with market data disabled, and it all runs perfectly (other than the usual Rithmic hiccups, which I've learned to live with). |

User624595/j4ytr4der How do we verify it's connecting to Denali data in SC? [M] letter near symbol? What's your Server (List) in SC Service Settings? Apex-Chicago Area-Non-Aggregated OR Rithmic Paper Trading - Chicago Area-Non-Aggregated?

I have R|Trader Pro working fine with Apex eval and using Sierra (and can even have a Bulenox or personal brokerage account open at the same time in another copy of Sierra Chart, with Order Allocation working in both -- let alone third party options to copy trades into ALL accounts at more than one funded firm). Yes, I have the paid Denali feed -- I have market data turned off in R|Trader Pro. And in Sierra I use Rithmic for the Apex order routing, but Denali for the market and historical data. You can open a small personal account eg with AMP or Stage 5 for little cost so you can get the CME top of book data at very small cost each month too. I find this setup much more reliable IMO than all the problems I see people having with relying on Rithmic (especially too on weekends for study or reviews when Rithmic is offline). |

I never saw the reply addressed to me until now, sorry about that. I have cash accounts at both AMP and IronBeam, and take package 11 from Sierra which includes Denali. I also trade a variety of evaluation and funded accounts with LeeLoo, Apex, and Bulenox and I run a separate copy of RTrader Pro for each of them, with market data disabled. You *can* use Rithmic for your market data in Sierra Chart but I strongly do not recommend this, mostly for these reasons: 1. You can (will) hit download limits with Rithmic and they can stop your account from downloading any more market data for a period of time. 1. Rithmic "Paper Trading" server data is horribly unreliable in a variety of ways. If you're at all serious about trading with Sierra Chart, get the Denali data feed. It's a small incremental cost, and just makes sense. BTW you can open an account at IronBeam with no deposit at all, and it will keep your SC installation activated. No need to tie up any cash at all just to use the platform anymore. |
