Message log pop up

Hello,

Everytime I place a trade I get a message log pop up. The trade goes through with no problem but always a pop up. What do you need from me in order to stop these constant pop ups?

If a Log opens, that is because there is some kind of error that should be looked into. Please give us the text from the Log that opens the next time this occurs so we can see why it is happening.

You can force the Message Log to never open. Refer to the following setting:
General Settings Window: Never Automatically Open Message Log or Trade Service Log (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Log >> Log)

All we can tell is that Rithmic is rejecting an order modification and we do not know why. Contact Rithmic for help with this.

Honestly, I still get pop ups. it's annoying and no one ever got back to me to resolve. They just passed the blame to someone else. It's not a Rithmic issue.
At this point I just accept that this is what you have to deal with to use Sierra.

Why is the order modification getting rejected? The rejection is coming from Rithmic. Why is the order getting modified? You need to check the Trade >> Trade Activity Log to see what is happening with the order. We do not know.

No this is not true. You will not experience this with other trading services:
At this point I just accept that this is what you have to deal with to use Sierra.

Sorry for jumping on but to be honest, at this point all the players (in my case Sierra chart, Rithmic and Amp) are pointing fingers at each other stating it’s not heir problem. Below is part of the email that I received from Rithmic.

“Open a support case with Sierra Charts. If they believe it is a Rithmic problem, they can open a technical support case with rapi@rithmic.com

Please note that we do not accept problem reports for third party software programs using the R | API++ direct from end users, we require the software developer to report R | API++ problems using our problem reporting methodology.”

The issue is when the order getting placed on R Trader, the issue doesn’t occur. This indicates that Sierra chart could be the culprit since issue occurs only when placing trades via Sierra chart. Keep in mind this is happening every single time placing the trade.

I use Rithmic on two other platforms and do not have this issue. Like I said, at this point I don't even care. I've accepted this is part of using Sierra and I'm okay with it.

Since AMP is being mentioned here, if you are using Rithmic for live trading, in this case move to Teton Order routing which is superior to Rithmic and has no cost:

The orders placed aren't actually rejected. They go through no problem. Never had an actual problem placing trades. The problem is the pop-up menu claiming that it's been rejected. But in fact, they have not been rejected.

Therefore, this is absolute confirmation that this is a Rithmic issue.

Next time this happens give us the Service Order ID and the server (File >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service Settings >>Main Settings >> Server) being connected to and we will tell Rithmic.

The reason you see this with Sierra Chart is because Sierra Chart is using a DTC connection developed by one of the Rithmic developers to their system. It is different than other programs use. So likely the issue is with that.

Although thinking about this some more, the message does not indicate a rejection of a new order. It indicates a rejection of an order modification. So we still need to know why is it the order is being modified. We do not know.
