Hello, I wasn't allowed to post further questions and it shows Thread is locked on the bottom of the support page. I am not sure why it says Thread is locked?? 1)Does Sierra chart have a feature for moving the Crosshair on the bars in the chart to see the open, high, low, last, change? I was not able to find the feature and would appreciate your help. 2) I downloaded the intraday data for Micro-Emini S&P500 (June contract) which expires on June 17 however it says "Symbol need Rollover". Please advise. Thank you for your attention. |

1) Refer to the following: Chart Drawing Tools: Chart Values/Crosshair 2) That notices indicating there is more volume in the next contract and is the result of this option: General Settings Window: Detect Rollover Of Current Futures Contracts Symbols Based On Real Time Volume (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Charts >> Symbol) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Good day, I am customizing the DOM for 3 platforms, however, at some point when I try to apply the (Color and Widths) changes to the (Graphics Settings - Global) the changes are not applied to the DOM's. When I tried to customize each DOM separately using the (Graphic Settings - Chart) for some features the enable button is not highlighted for selecting it and also same occurs when I try to apply the changes nothing happens. Please advise. Thank you for your attention. |

First, the Chart Graphics Settings have the option for Use Global Graphics Settings instead of These Settings, which is why any changes made on that window will not make any changes. You have to make the changes on the Global Graphics Settings window (Global Settings >> Graphics Settings). On the Global Graphics Settings window, when the Enable button is not available, that means that the particular color option is always available and you can just change the settings for it and it will update the items that it is related to. What item, in particular, are you trying to change on the DOM? We can ensure you are changing the correct item in the Graphics Settings. In particular, note that if you are making changes to the Trading DOM, then you need to change the items related to the "Trading DOM" and not the "Chart DOM". Good day, I tried "Trade DOM Background Color" in Graphics Settings - Global as advised but it doesn't do anything and similarly for Trade DOM Column Separator Lines and Trade DOM Bid Column Background. Thank you for your attention. |

You just happened to choose 3 of the complicated ones. With regards to the "Trade DOM Background Color" and the "Trade DOM Bid Column Background". The issue is that, by default, the background is separated into an Ask Background (above the current price) and a Bid Background (below the current price). Therefore, any changes to the General Background or Column Backgrounds are hidden by these two other items. You would first have to turn off the "Trade DOM Ask Background" and the "Trade DOM Bid Background" in order to see the effect of the "Trade DOM Background Color" and the "Trade DOM Bid Column Background". With regards to the "Trade DOM Column Separator Lines", if you do not have any additional columns displayed, then this setting does not apply. There are settings special for the Buy and Sell column separators - "Trade DOM Buy Column Lines" and "Trade DOM Sell Column Lines". If you add additional columns and turn on the separator lines, then the "Trade DOM Column Separator Lines" will apply to the separators between those extra columns. Good day, I have added both "Volume by Price" and "Trading:Profit/Loss Text" to the Trading DOM and on top of the DOM where I circled the setting description for both is displayed. Is there any way I can remove the setting description? I wasn't able to locate any discussions on the Support Board about this particular question. Please advise. Much appreciate your attention. |

Good day, I am not sure why when I enable the Chart DOM and Trade DOM Daily High and Low Line in (Graphics Settings - Global) nothing happens! Second question is that how can I change the color of Trade DOM to the left of the price ladder. Currently by default is light blue. please advise. Thank you for your attention. |

Is there any way I can remove the setting description?
Refer to the following: Chart Studies: Subgraphs Tab >> Display Study Subgraphs Name and Value - Global I am not sure why when I enable the Chart DOM and Trade DOM Daily High and Low Line in (Graphics Settings - Global) nothing happens!
On a Chart, you need to have the Trade >> Trading Chart DOM On or Trade >> Show Market Data Columns, as these lines only display in the DOM. On a Trading DOM, most likely it is just that the High and Low of the day are off the displayed part of the window. You would have to shrink the range down to ensure you are seeing where the lines would be. Second question is that how can I change the color of Trade DOM to the left of the price ladder
As noted above, you would change that color with the Trade DOM Background Color, but you would first have to disable the options for Trade DOM Bid Background and Trade DOM Ask Background. There is not an option to change just the left half background and the Price Ladder separately. Good afternoon, I have updated Sierra Charts to the latest version that came out a few days ago. I have been seeing a lag between the price movement between the Trading DOM's and Charts. The price movement in charts are quite slow compare to the price ladder in the Trading DOM ( please see attached) I am following the steps under "Improving Performance of Chart/Trade DOM: 1) I have updated to the newest version that was released a few days ago. 2) I am using Denali Exchange Data Feed 3) I open two Trading DOM's and three charts with no studies For steps 4-6: 4- Adjust the "Chart Update Interval" 5- Adjust the "Remote Buffer Delay Send Time In Milliseconds" 6- Adjust the "Max Depth Levels" My questions is that there are recommendations made for each adjustments in Sierra Chart, however, I am not sure if I should make any adjustments or stick with the default settings? Currently, I am using a windows computer with 8 GB ram and opening 2 Trading DOM's with 3 Charts ( no studies) just showing the price movements. This Windows computer is only used for Sierra Chart and nothing else is run on this computer.Since its a bit complicated to run Sierra Chart on a Mac I tried avoiding this path and use the Windows computer even though I have older Mac with 16 GB ram. My question is do you advise trying to download Sierra Chart to my Mac to help with the performance and speed? How can I check the performance of the Trading DOM and Charts in terms of speed? For the spec of my computer with 512 SD memory and 8 GB ram memory is opening two Trading DOM's and Three simple charts with no studies too much in order to preserve the optimal performance of Sierra charts? Thank you greatly for all your valuable guidance. |

Good afternoon, Sorry to have taken your time once again. I have attached both specification of my windows and Mac computer in order to get the best advice in regards to possibly purchasing a more powerful computer if it is advised. My Mac computer has only 2 cores with 16 GB ram while windows also have 2 core with 8 gb ram. Thank you for your attention. |

Good day, Since no one has provided any resolution in the discussion group may I ask for your guidance in regards to possibly creating another instance of SC. In total I have 3 charts open with no studies only viewing the live market movement and 2 Trade DOM. I will be trading two markets with the trade DOMs and the 3 charts are only for analysis and again with no study. Based on all the 3 charts and 2 trade DOM being open this is what I see in task manager. Do you advise creating another instance of SC for only running Trade DOMs and Charts for actually placing trades and another one for analysis if in total I have 3 simple charts open and 2 trading DOM? Much appreciate your valued attention. |

Apart from our general advice contained in the following section of the documentation: Overview of Trading: Sierra Chart Configuration for Most Low Response Time Trading There really is nothing more we can say, as it will depend on your particular computer and setup. It is something we recommend you try out and see what will work best for you. Good day, I wanted to clarify one more thing before creating another instance of SC. Because of the spec of my Windows computer I have decided to create the second instance for only market analysis into my Mac computer. May I ask if you have any advice about this? In terms of SC receiving data from the exchange and Denali Data feed to work properly in the second instance are there any important documents beside "Transferring Sierra Chart Settings and Data From Existing Installation to New Installation" do you advise I have to review to make sure I can properly run the second instance of SC on my Mac? Much appreciate your prompt attention. |

If the MAC is a completely separate computer from where you currently run your Sierra Chart, then you will have to pay the exchange fees twice in order to get the real-time data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed to that second computer. Refer to the following: Denali Exchange Data Feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed on Two Computers Simultaneously For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Good day, I have installed a second copy of Sierra Chart to the same computer as the main Sierra Chart. However, the second copy is not connecting while the main one is working fine. I have installed both on a separate folders as stated. From what I have understood the Listening Port and Historical Data Port for has to be different. My question is I am not sure what to set the Listening Port and Historical Data Port too for the second copy. Please see screen shot of the Message Log. Please advise. Thank you for your attention. |

You can set the port numbers to anything above 1024, but higher numbers are generally considered better. You can use 12000 and 12001 if you like.

Good day, I am still unable to connect to the second copy of the Sierra Chart I have downloaded. In the service setting I have set the server address and sever port as the one showing on then message log of the main SC and have also changed the Listening Port and Historical Data Port to the one that was advise but still did not work and I made changes based on the instructions provided on the support board for "Internet Ports and IP Addresses used by Sierra Chart Data Services" and "Instructions For Sharing Data Between Separate Installed Instances". I have not been able to make this work. May I ask for permission to upload the message log or any other advice I would very much appreciate it. Thank you for your attention. |

First of all, we want to make sure that it is only the Sub-Instance of the second installation that you are having an issue with. Please confirm that the main instance of the second installation is working properly. This ensures that we are starting with the correct issue.

Then we need to first concentrate on the Main Instance, so do not do any work in a Sub-Instance, which is what the changes you have been making have been related to. Are both of these installations on the same computer? If so, then you can get the Denali data into both of them. If you are not getting any data into the second installation, then make sure the option for Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds is set to Yes. If it is not, then change it to Yes and select OK to close that window. Then select File >> Disconnect followed by File >> Connect to Data Feed.
