Two issues: 1) I had experimented with multiple T&S windows open. This save to the workspace was fine and reloaded the multiple T&S windows upon future loads of the workspace. Now however, I cannot remove one of the T&S. I can close it with the X in the top right and save the workspace but it will appear again next time I open that workspace. 2) I have started keeping a high timeframe chart detached and behind some other detached charts. During the day I will switch workspaces frequently and every time I switch back to this workspace, the high timeframe chart is covering my other charts. I have gone into the window | windows and chartbooks manager and set the high time frame chart to the bottom of the list but it still does the described behavior above. 1) Make sure you save the Chartbook after you close the T&S window. We can not think of any other reason why you would have this occur. 2) Check that the particular chart that is coming up does not have the options for Window >> Always on Top or Window >> Window Always Visible. Although it does not sound like either of these are set from what you describe. But these are the only things that would cause something like this. Therefore, it is most likely an MS Windows issue. 1) I already stated that I was saving the workspace after I close the rogue T&S window. 2) Both of your suggested settings are not selected. You are the only software vendor I have used on my entire computer that regularly blames a third party (Microsoft, CQG, Interactive Brokers etc...) for problems. Do you use multiple instances or just one instance of Sierra Chart? If you do use multiple instances, are they separate installations or are you using File >> New Instance to start new instances? I have gone into the window | windows and chartbooks manager and set the high time frame chart to the bottom of the list but it still does the described behavior above. This actually is the reason for the issue. The window has to be at the top of the list.

2. It doesn't seem to matter where on that list my higher timeframe chart is, it still will always come to the foreground when I load the workspace or switch between chartbooks. Really gets in the way of my flow during the trading day. |

2. We tested this specifically and we are unable to reproduce. This indeed may be an operating system level issue if you continue to encounter that. Not sure it would matter but you can attach the Chartbook and we can test. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I'm having the same issue. I create a chartbook, save all, shut down, then when restarting Sierra I have to open the chartbook to add it to tabs at top left corner with existing open chartbooks. For example: When I start Sierra, ES and CL chartbooks open automatically. But my GC chart does not. I have to manually add it every time I open Sierra. I save the GC chart in everyway possible but still doesn't load on startup. In addition to that, I have to reset chart session times on a number of charts fairly often. It would be nice to hit Save all and the charts actually save all. What is the solution? |

The first item - automatically opening Chartbooks. You have to specify which chartbooks open automatically. Refer to the following setting: General Settings Window: Select Files to Open On Startup (Global Settings >> General Settings >> General >> Startup) Second item - Session Times. These should not change unless you are changing the symbol for a chart. If the session times are changing in a chart and you did not make any changes to that chart, then you have another chart either linked or having a requirement that the chart that is changing has the same session times. Refer to the following: Chart Session Times: Session Times Automatically Changing Unexpectedly For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
