Dear Support,
I would like to trade using sierra chart trade window with SC data live feed with using an IBKR (TWS) account. I followed the steps listed here:
Interactive Brokers Trading Service: Setup Instructions , but when swiching the current selected service to Interactive Brokers [trading] I've lost live data connection. Should I use 2 sierra instances one with current selected service SC data and one with current selected service Interactive Brokers [trading] to be able to trade from sierra chart and having live data as well?
Could you please advice what is the optimal solution for this problem?

Thanks,

You should have your Current Selected Service set to Interactive Brokers and you should be getting the real-time data from us for the CBOE Indices and U.S. Equities (the exchanges you have activated).

The only reason why you would have the issue you are stating is if the setting for File >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds is set to No. This should be set to Yes. Be sure you reconnect to the data feed after making a change per these instructions:
File Menu: Procedure to Reconnect to the Data and Trade Servers

Hi

I'm also using IBKR (Gateway) and trying to trade through SC. I have gone through all the steps to connect the two. I have a problem with downloading speed. When my SC downloads the updates the price action freezes with it on the DOM and the charts. It can take anywhere from 3 to 7 minutes to sort itself out. I thought it could be my computer, but my computer is operating fine and I'm not even using all the CPU or Memory during the downloads. Both are quite low.

I'm wondering if there is a way to limit the downloads from IBKR so that I'm only getting historical data from Denali. I have the settings set to for the trading server to not "Record True Real-Time Data in Intraday Charts". I think that was the default to be honest.

Other things to note, for a period I was trading with a VPN. I'm also using WIFI. I will upgrade to cable connection, but I have 5G on both.

My Message Log says closed sockets a lot. Don't know if that is a bad thing or a good thing.

Earlier today. A message popped up on my chart in the lower left screen. This only happened once and in the morning, which would be Globex session. "Loaderr: (V38/Dir) - HTTP_Request_Error"

Also, I noticed in the setup instructions which is for TWS. It has a box to enable Active X and Sock Clients. Gateway doesn't have the feature. Not sure if that has anything to do with it either.

My feeling is its slow because of my connection to IBKR. I have run SC- delayed trial with NT8 and TWS at the same time and didn't have any issues on either. I was also using API with TWS on NT8.

Is there way to reduce the interaction with IBKR and still trade with SC?

That message is not from Sierra Chart:
. "Loaderr: (V38/Dir) - HTTP_Request_Error"

I did all that when I was trouble shooting. Is it possible to put the "maximum historical intraday days to download limit" to 1 without effecting my trade execution or my Denali Data feed?

We want you to run Sierra Chart in Safe Mode. Refer to:

After reading the section on this, I realized the problem is likely coming from my 3rd party study. Maybe their server was down while I was on this morning.

I also tried safe mode, but wasn't sure what I am looking for? I didn't notice that the 3rd party studies did disappear in safe mode.

Safe Mode in Sierra Chart removes any 3rd party studies from your charts. This way, you can be certain that you are only using the Sierra Chart software at that time. Therefore, if you are having an issue that goes away when in Safe Mode, then you can be pretty sure the problem is related to a 3rd party study that is on your system.

does icmarkets use CQG, Rithmic or the Sierra Chart Order Routing Service for their Order Routing?

If not, then you will not be able to use Sierra Chart with that broker.

You can still use Sierra Chart for charting and use the data from us. Just be aware that if you are wanting data from the CME Group then they have a requirement that you have a live, funded, futures trading account that you can connect to at least once a month. Refer to the information here:
