SC Data: second instance data and another broker

Hello

I have a couple of questions regarding the SC data feed:

1-For performance improvement I wanted to use the second instance I have for SC to display other markets, market depth data, and market statistics so I can I leave the first (main source instance) only for trading. I am not sure it is working right for me. Do the symbols running on the second instance have to have a chart running for it on the main instance? For example, having NQ chart and market depth on the second instance without having any NQ charts/data on the main one.

2-For using another broker for execution other than SC routing service (want to use one for IB which I still have), do I need to install a new standalone version. My understanding is that I can have a max of three instances from SC on the machine but I need more to have one separate for IB. is this the right instruction page: Using Multiple Data and Trading Services at the Same Time

Thank you, it just became a little confusing to me.

1. No, the symbol does not need to be accessed in the Main instance for the Sub-Instance to be getting the data.

2. If you want to have access to the SC Order Routing Service and to Interactive Brokers, then you will have to install another standalone Sierra Chart and set up the new one to connect to IB. The page you listed is correct.

Also, there is no limit to the number of installations of a Sierra Chart on a system. We do not know why you are referring to 3.

Here is documentation for sharing market data between installations of Sierra Chart if needed:

Ok, for adding IB in a different, I did follow the instructions and it seems to be working But the chart data is different. The MES looks different in IB copy than the SC copy. I think there is something not right.

I didn't do step 13 (You will need to modify the following symbol settings for a symbol that you want to access market data for from the Source instance.)

I just send the message log showing the data error messages. pls let me know once you looked at it

This is the relevant message:
SC Data - All Services | Logon error received from server: Connection limit exceeded.

The easiest solution to this is to use the Denali exchange data feed for the CME data. We will need to set you up with that.

I am not sure what you mean. I already have the Denali CME data. How would you set me up?

We apologize there was no follow-up earlier on this.

You are not currently using the Denali Exchange Data Feed. We can set that up for you. The first step is to complete the agreements here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ExchangeAgreements

Let us know when that is done.

When you use the Denali Exchange Data Feed and also the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed at the same time, you will receive a 10 USD credit to your account.

there is an open ticket with this now. I am just trying to complete this but I am a little confused (just signed the agreement). in any case, can you please explain how I need two data feeds and the price is how much after I add the new data feed?

We have two different providers for data feeds. And we are only offering the CME group data through the Denali exchange data feed. This is why there are two separate feeds. The data feed cost is going to be 35 + 20 - 12/month

Ok, and I need the second one ,Denali, to power the second standalone IB Sierra charts copy, right? - that’s fine I signed the doc

And that mean my fee will increase by 25-10 (or 12). Does that include the market depth for the stand alone IB SC copy?

That’s fine

Yes this is correct.

Regarding pricing, it would be $10 a month extra plus the CME exchange fees for the data feed.

We apologize. We thought this was being handled through a support ticket. The Denali feed is now active for your account.

We did not activate market depth data. Just the top of the book for the full CME group.

I sent you the message log. I am still having issues and it is becoming really frustrating. I understand you are busy but this is not an indicator issue. I need this system running and working.

and, I keep trying to ask questions and get help in the support ticket, as I should be getting help there for such a thing, and no replies. I am frustrated and need this up without another day of this.

We apologize for the delay. We are quite busy and it does take time to do a an analysis of the Message Log.

This is the problem:
SC Data - All Services | Logon error received from server: Connection limit exceeded. |

To resolve this, we need you to update all instances of Sierra Chart to the current version by following the instructions here:
Software Download: Fast Update

And in the instance connected to Interactive Brokers, select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service:
Edit Menu: Edit >> Translate Symbols To Current Service

Ok, I will wait for version 2098 given the issue you describe in versions 2093-2097.
I hope it works then

You just need to run version 2092, not the prerelease. One of your versions is on 2068.

Also it is fine to run prerelease 2098. We are not aware of any outstanding problems with that related to Chartbooks. The issues have been resolved.

ok, still a problem. I updated and now I have everything working but I think that the original SS version, the one with SC routing service, is now working with Denali feed because I no longer get the market depth that I used to get with SC data feed. How can I make sure only the new standalone is the one that is working on Daniel but the old one keeps its configuration with SC data so I can see the market depth that I used to have.

The exchange fee that you are paying for does not include market depth data. To activate market depth data, refer to:

I just did it because I don't want to wait but I don't need market depth data on my second SC connection. I want to only have it as before:

- I pay for SC data with market depth for my original setup with SC data and AMP (Sc data as I used to have it, come with market depth)

- I add Daniel for the second one, for the second one only, without market depth for IB trading (pay an extra 20 for Daniel and 3 for non-depth data)

Otherwise, I am paying an extra 52 USD for the second SC version and an extra 20 for SC Data. Why do I need both for a second connection? doesn't make sense to me

If you need market depth data on one instance you just pay the CME exchange fee with market depth with the Denali Exchange Data Feed and you will have it on both instances of Sierra Chart.

This is no longer the case:
- I pay for SC data with market depth for my original setup with SC data and AMP
You are not paying any CME related exchange fee with your SC Exchange Data Feed. That data feed is only used for cash indices and US equities.

Ok, With regard to my stock data feed. it only works on one instance at a time (I have 2 sub instances from the main SC and another standalone installation for Interactive broker). is there a setting to enable it on the subinstances? why is that happening?

The US equities data can only be used in one installation of Sierra Chart and also sub instances opened with File >> New Instance.

However, the proper way to approach this, is that we have precise documentation explaining how this functionality works. So with that in mind, make sure what you are doing is consistent with it. Refer to:

I have install two standalone on my VPS. The first one is for AMP account and second one is for OEC. I have paid for Denali Exchange Data Feed. It does work for the first standalone for AMP account but does not show live data feed for second one for OEC. Both of these are log in with the SC account. How can I get data feed to work for the second standalone?
