Is there a way to change the date and time format of exported data? It should be YYYY/MM/YY but Jan 1 2015 turns into 2015/1/1 instead of 2015/01/01 and it would be great if the time were concatenated with the data. I expect this has been asked somewhere before but I couldn't track it down.

Why does this cause a problem? You should have no trouble parsing a date without zero padding because there are / character delimiters.

It's when I try to combine the Date and Time fields so I can evaluate them in an algorithm. I think the .0 in the time field is causing the issues. When I trim that out I can combine the fields and I am off and running. I'd love to just generate Date and Time together in one field so I don't have to do the transformation after the export but I already have an ELT algorithm built overnight so it's not a burning issue for me at the moment. However, if there was a way to configure the time output format, that would be cool.

I think there should be more options when you ask Sierra to export the data to a text file, imagine choosing which columns you want exported, and also to choose the date/time format? Real time saver. For example, as of now it exports the date as 07/18/2020 and time 20:20:50.2, why can´t we choose the date time format when exporting the file? I would like the date to be exported as 20200718 and time 20:20:50.234 This makes very annoying and time consuming when you wanna use the data in other platforms, look how much time wasted in Excel doing those edits, when the software could export the thing just like you want/need. |

This is absolutely flatley untrue: For example, as of now it exports the date as 07/18/2020 These are conversions with the program you are using is doing!! Not Sierra Chart! For example the date is actually 2020-07-18. You are simply posting false incorrect information. But we do see there is a problem with the millisecond portion and we will resolve that. There is nothing wrong with the exported date format. It is in proper standardized international format. And post #4 has no sympathy from us whatsoever. You need to work with the data that is exported and do the necessary processing on your side. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. @Sierra You would expect this kind of customization of exported data from a professional trading platform. I mean, so simple to implement, just choose what you want exported and format. This way is like forcing down your throat something and "deal with it". You can customize Sierra in thousands of ways, but can´t customize a simple data export, unbelievable. I am using Sierra from broker and their data, not a subscription here. Not at the moment, anyways.

Your answer does not prevent you from following our instructions in our post above. And we are blocking the account you are posting from. We need to make a correction, you are correct about the millisecond portion. It should be in the format .001 for 1 ms. Instead it was .1. We are correcting that. We thought we had looked at this before and made sure it is correct, and we do know that other programs can manipulate the data. However, what we say about the date format is correct. It is being changed by your other program. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. i know this might not be in your interest because its a third party software but i dont geht the point why excel does change the format randomly when copying data. in Some rows in works, in others not.
