At the present time, users are encountering an error connecting to the CQG FIX server. You will be receiving this error:
CQG FIX: Received a Logout message. Text = InvalidSenderCompIDInLogonRequest |

This is a CQG error indicating your username is not being recognized. We cannot help with this but we assume this is a temporary problem and CQG will resolve it before Sunday evening.

Do not make any postings here about this. We cannot help with that! Please understand that.

Furthermore, we have decided that we are going to remove from our documentation mention of CQG FIX Trading service and discontinue all technical support for it in the coming weeks. You will instead need to use the CQG Web API service. There is not a practical need to be using CQG FIX any longer.

You can choose the CQG Web API service now through Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service. Set that to CQG Web API.

Please also be aware of this new service we have available:
Sierra Chart / Trading Technologies Futures Order Routing Service

We are not trying to promote this service at this time. We are only making a mention of it and creating awareness.

Thanks for the update on yesterdays post.

Is there any performance implication from using CQG Web API instead of CQG FIX?

Having just abandoned IB it is a little disturbing to discover that I should leave the service I had understood to be superior (FIX) for a Web API interface. Generally I expect Web APIs to be messier, potentially less reliable, and potentially slower. Is my impression incorrect?

Just for a little more understanding: when you say you will discontinue technical support for FIX does that just mean "don't ask questions here because, sorry, but we really can't help" and we can use it but direct questions to our broker, or does it mean you'll remove the functionality to support the CQG FIX interface from Sierra Chart?

Thanks.

CQG is best able to answer this question. We really do not know because any performance implication would be something that is on their side. There is no practical performance difference on the Sierra Chart side. If anything we would tend to think the Web API would be a little faster but that's really hard to say. We have never measured it. But the differences are going to be in the microsecond range.

And although it's called a web API that is only because it uses the websocket protocol. On our side the overhead of that, is very negligible.

And considering the connectivity issues we hear about with CQG FIX among some users, you probably really are better off using the Web API but even the web API has been affected by those. So there effectively may be no difference anyway.

when you say you will discontinue technical support for FIX does that just mean "don't ask questions here because, sorry, but we really can't help" and we can use it but direct questions to our broker,
yes.

And if you are trading the Asian markets we are going to be setting up a Singapore server for this new service:

Sierra Chart / Trading Technologies Futures Order Routing Service

We expect to have this done in 30 days. But this will only be for order routing and not market data.

I have a trade record that's showing me up $3752.00 on a Micro with CQG would this problem be caused by that as well ?

That will not solve the problem. CQG Web API is also affected by this. This was a recent issue that has been resolved in version 1898.
