Switching accounts in T4

Good morning - I currently have 2 accounts in T4 CTS and I would like to switch them back and forth but the only way I see to do this is to use Data / trade service settings. This is fine, however, when I tried to switch accounts it shows the account has been switched on the chart trader but none of the current trades or totals for the new account show up. Instead the totals and trades for the previous account remain. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting but that did not work. I have not tried placing a trade once the account is switched for fear of it still being tied to the other account. The only way to get it to work is to have two instances of Sierra with each one having the different account #'s. The trouble with this is T4 does not allow more than one connection to the account so I have to disconnect from one instance and connect to the other instance. If using a single instance I have to switch the accounts then close Sierra then re-open it. Obviously both of these are painful. My question is does Sierra support switching between accounts in a single instance for T4?

I did not provide screenshots because acct#'s are involved. If you need them is it possible to share privately?

Thanks!
Robert

Robert,

Multiple account support in Sierra Chart is not fully supported and this is something we are going to be working on next month. If you do change the account through File >> Data/Trade Service Settings, you will need to disconnect and reconnect to the server.

When you say "Instead the totals and trades for the previous account remain", are you referring to the current trading Positions in the account?

Yes- Here is an example- Account 123 has -8 Ticks for CL showing in the chart window. If I were to disconnect and switch the Account to 234 and reconnect it would still show -8 ticks for CL. This should say zero. This goes the same for trades in progress. If I am long CL on account 123 and switch to account 234 it will still show the long trade from account 123 on the chart.

The only way I have found to clear trades and tick totals is to close out Sierra and restart.

Hope this makes sense.

Robert

Understood. Sierra Chart currently does not have the ability to handle switching between accounts. After reading this, we can see there is a substantial work to do this because we have to organize trade data into separate accounts. This is still going to be at least 2 months away.

By restarting the program, you are actually not solving the problem, there is another reason why it seems as though it is working, but it's not handling it right.

The only solution right now is to use 2 separate copies of Sierra Chart. Each one needs to have a different CTS T4 username assigned to each of your accounts. See if CTS will issue you a 2nd username.
