Before I purchase package 3 using your online payment processor, I would like you to know that I am needing you to connect the data feed to Global Futures (OEC). My account will be opened there sometime on Thursday. I don't know how else to contact you since you seem to not have phone support. I don't want to lose all the charts I've created while receiving free Sierra charting services through my soon-to-be "old" broker at Transact Futures. Please advise the timing of the switchover. Should I purchase the package on the day the funds are being wired from my old broker over to the new one? Or should it be set up with Sierra prior to the switch?

It is recommended to setup Sierra Chart before the switch happens.

Please refer to the Direct Sierra Chart Account documentation page for more information:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_DirectAccount.html

You can skip step #1, as you already have a Sierra Chart which you are using to login to this Support Board.

I just checked my account and it says -in error-that I have 0 time left to use my acct and that this happened back in June. I have absolutely been using Sierra Charts without any lapse as my broker was paying. I wasn't subscribing out of my own pocket. My question...now that I will be switching over to Global (from Transact) tomorrow which route should I use to make payment? Should I just go to Purchase tab under Account Management? OR should I go ahead and respond to the inaccurate message which says my account has lapsed and purchase from that area? I just don't want to lose the charts I've created.

Select Help >> Purchase/Account Management from within Sierra Chart. This will direct the payment to account that you are already using with Sierra Chart.

So I would have to be at my home computer where I use my Sierrra chart and have the chart open and start with clicking on Help, etc.? If so, I won't be able to do it until this evening when I return home after work.
Thank you

Just purchased pkg 3but must I repurchase every 30 days or is it a recurring monthly charge?

It is not recurring. We are looking at adding recurring payments later on.

The reminder will be within the Sierra Chart software itself. A System Notification Window will appear before expiration.

Today my account with Transact futures is being closed and my Sierra Charting package is connected with it--it was free and included with Transact as broker. Today my Transact broker is wiring my account funds to new broker, Global Futures. In anticipation of this happening and so not to lose any of my Sierra Charts, as you know, I purchased the monthly subscription to Pkg 3 yesterday. My question is how will you know when to connect Global's live OEC data feed to my Sierra Charts? Will the broker at Global contact you?

I followed the instructions on setting up my "new" direct account starting with number two. However, when the charts open up my old charts are not all there. I had created some new ones in the past few months and had set them up to open automatically as I logged on. But now the only charts that are opening up are the ones I created a long time ago. I know there is a problem as the old ones have a black background and the old months, back in June. The new ones I created have a white background and are the current contract months. Please advise.

It looks as though you have Sierra Chart properly set to use OEC. If you need help with that, let us know.

Exit from all copies of Sierra Chart that you are currently running on your system.

Go to C:\SierraChart\SierraChartTransActMA\Data on your system. Take a copy of all of the files in that folder and then paste them into this folder:
C:\SierraChart\Data

If you get any message indicating that the file exists in the destination folder, choose to overwrite the destination file.

I do not understand what you have said in this last post. Nevertheless, I have completely lost all charts I created when I was with Transact futures. I thought there was some sort of bridge from Transact to Sierra Chart. I opened the C:folder...etc. as per your last instruction and there are way too many folders. I'm not going to copy and paste each one into another one. This is way too complicated and non-user friendly. Can I just get my money back please as I have worked too hard for too long setting up my Sierra Charts with very complex indicators and now they are lost. I will simply learn the new charting system at Global Zen Trader and start all over.

Yes we can give you a refund. However, there is a simple solution to this. We will contact you on Monday and use remote assistance to solve this.

We can copy the files over for you or we can just simply set up a shortcut on your desktop to the Sierra Chart copy at C:\SierraChart\SierraChartTransActMA\Data and set it to use OEC. This will accomplish what you are thinking.

Please set a telephone number on your account here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/usercp.php?page=ManageAccountInfo

We will contact you on Monday morning.

Another simple thing you can do is in Sierra Chart, select Global Settings>> General Settings. Set the Data Files Folder to:
C:\SierraChart\SierraChartTransActMA\Data

Exit from Sierra Chart and start it again. You will then have access to all of your prior files.

Once this is successful, we recommend deleting the old data files at C:\SierraChart\Data as they no longer need to be used..

Once again, we will help you on Monday with this.

Thank you for offering to use remote assistance to resolve this as my acumen in navigating through files--knowing and finding which are where, etc, obviously can use much improvement! I am on the West Coast and would need to set up this appt. early, around 6:30 a.m. Would that be possible for you?

If you have about 15 minutes today or on Sunday, that would be the best time for us to help you. We tried calling now but there was no answer.

6:30 AM on Monday is early. On Monday it would be more like 10:30 AM.

Thanks again for your help. Today I've been making graphic changes, i.e., changing the outline color of price bar to black, for example. First I made the change on the Global Chart graphic settings and it changed most of the charts. However a couple of them did not take the change at all. So, I then tried to make the change on just the regular chart graphic setting (not global), and it still would not change the outline of the price bar to black. Can you advise what might be the issue? Also, while working I keep getting a message box popping up which is very distracting. Is there any way to turn it off? I try closing log but it keeps popping back up.

To prevent the Message Log from appearing select File >> Disconnect. To connect back to the Data/Trade server select File >>Connect to Data Feed.

For the charts that did not take the color changes go to Chart >> Graphics Settings and make sure the Use Global Graphics Settings option is enabled. If that does not help, then there must be some study on the chart affecting the colors.
