Hi, I have been using the Sierra Charts platform for a number of years, and it is usually very stable. Over the last few days however, I am constantly (happening 4/5 times every hour) getting a "waiting to reconnect" message, followed a few seconds later by "Waiting to download historical data". Then a few seconds later "Historical download complete". During this time i am not able to use the platform, which is a problem particularly if i am in the middle of a trade. The only thing that has changed recently is i have upgraded to version 1460. As a comparison i have a number of other trading platforms open at the same time, and these are not affected what-so-ever, so i know it is not a local connection issue. Please advise Kind Regards |

OK we did not realize you are using an external service and not a Sierra Chart service. In this case you are connecting to IQ Feed. These are the relevant messages: IQFeed | Level 2 port reports server is disconnected. | 2016-09-29 13:05:22 IQFeed | Level 1 system message: SERVER DISCONNECTED | 2016-09-29 13:05:22 IQFeed | Level 1 connection to data server disconnected. Reconnecting. | 2016-09-29 13:05:22 Connection to the external service has been lost. | 2016-09-29 13:05:22 So the connection is being lost on the IQ Feed side. You will need to contact them for help with it. When a connection is indicated to be lost, Sierra Chart goes through a process of re-downloading historical data to ensure there is no missed historical data. This is absolutely necessary. Consider using the Sierra Chart Real-time and Historical Exchange Data Feed instead: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php You will also save a lot. Thks. If i switch to the sierra charts data feed what will the costs be? : The basic cost is stated as $35. however there are 2 exchange fees shown for Eurex - Eurex data feed - $15.75 or Eurex professional feed at $57.75. What is the difference between them ? and would they allow me to use volume profiling, and the numbers bars showing data on a tick by tick basis.. Lastly would there be any other costs ? Thks |

Unless you are considered a professional by the EUREX exchange, you just need to pay the 15.75 exchange fee. So there is no functional difference. The data feed is tick by tick and supports Volume Profiles and Numbers Bars. There is only the cost of the data feed and exchange fee.
