Spreadsheet study scaling and draw style help

I added a spreadsheet study to help me determine the strength of a move. The study basically just assigns a 1 if the formula is true and 0 if false. I set the scale to independent and the subgraph draw style to square with width/size of 2 (so it is big and clear for me to see). With these settings, the study plotted correctly at the top of the region and stayed at the top of the region even when I scroll the chart up or down. However, the size of the squares were small or squeezed. I tried to change the width/size to 1 and 3 and the problem remains the same - the subgraph plotted is small or squeezed.

I changed the scale to user defined with top of range at 1 and bottom of range at 0. The size of the squares plotted correctly. However, when I scroll the chart up or down, the study moves/scrolls with the chart. However, the study is distracting this way and when I scroll the chart up, the study moves up and no longer visible.

Is there a setting that I am missing to correctly display the size of the plotted squares but keep the study visible at the top of the region and not move when the chart is scrolled up or down? I am thinking that independent is the right scaling to use but why is the subgraph plotted small or squeezed. Attached are images to illustrate the problem.

Use 2 other formula columns in the Spreadsheet study and set their Draw Style to Hidden. Return a value of 10 in one of them and 1 in the other.

The real formula which returns the visible result should return a value of 9. Play around with the values until you get the desired view.

Continue to use an Independent Scale. The basic idea is you need to have a range of prices to establish a scale and then put the Square Subgraph at the appropriate level.

When I added the 2 hidden columns, the study no longer stays on top even with scaling set to independent. The study now scrolls with the chart.

Actually, that would be true. And the only a way to avoid that is to put the study in its own Chart Region. There is no other possibility.

I am surprised that without the 2 hidden columns you suggested, the study was not scrolling with the chart. If only the size of the subgraph is plotted correctly, it would be perfect. I wonder why that is.

Is there a way to reduce the space between the chart regions? I'm thinking of putting the study in region 2 below the main chart region and those in region 2 to region 3. I prefer very little space between the main chart region and region 2 since region 2 will not have headers in it.

We would have to go through the calculations but the reason must be because it has no scale range. The range is 0.

There is no space between the Chart Regions. They are side by side.

Okay thanks. As much as I preferred the study on top, I'll play with putting it in the second region and see how it suits me.

Is there a way to make region 2 data line hidden by default on all charts?
