Hi all, last week I wrote you the following: problem with symbol K200: I am able to open a position and first the position shows up correctly in the trade window and as line in the chart but after 1 or 2 seconds the trade window goes back to "Flat" and the position line in the chart disappears; on the IB side everything is ok and the "Orders and Position" window on the SC side shows the position as well; when I try to flatten the position via SC I get the error msg "Unable to Flatten ..." which means I have to close the position directly in the tws. any ideas? ps: this problem exists only with K200 - all the other symbols I'm using work with no problems (win 8.1, Interactive Brokers tws 950.2g, SC 1282) you asked me then to compare the complete symbols in the trade DOM and in the "Trade Orders and Positions" window, and actually there was a difference: Trade DOM: K200-201509-KSE Orders and Positions: K200-200009-KSE you then said this would be a problem on the IB side and you would report it to them ... in the meantime I installed the newest version of tws (950.2g) and the problem is still there, BUT the symbols in the "Trade DOM" and the "Orders and Positions" are now identical i.e. K200-201509-KSE what now? |

We did report this to Interactive Brokers. If you see the correct symbol on the Positions tab of the Trade Orders and Positions window, then it is solved. Therefore in this case, refer to the information in this section: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TradeStatusWindows.html#IncorrectlyReportedTradePosition Also there was not a need to start a new Support Request about this and restate everything. That is not the proper procedure. It creates more work for you and for us. You should have responded in the existing Support Request you started on this board. http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?l=1439791060828.png I attached/uploaded 2 images: a) SC-Desktop with Trade Service Log b) Trade Activity Log on the Desktop image you can see that I tried to close a position (K200-201509-KSE) and got an error msg ("Unable to Flatten ...") which is correct, on the IB side there is no open position on the Trade Activity Log image you can see that there is still an open short position |

Where you see the incorrect position is the Trade Stats for Charts tab. Usually that tab will not be reporting correct Position data. Once again refer to the documentation here about this: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TradeStatusWindows.html#IncorrectlyReportedTradePosition Specifically refer to step number 6. http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?l=1439857217234.png I uploaded/attached 2 files: a) tws.png which shows an open long K200-201509-KSE position b) a SC screenshot which shows a stopLoss and a target line but no position line; the trade windows shows "Flat" "Orders and Positions" show all 3 orders with the correct status and symbol |

There is still some detail you are overlooking. We need to see a screenshot of the Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions tab. Something is either not right there or there is some setting that is not correct. Whatever the problem, it is documented here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TradeStatusWindows.html#IncorrectlyReportedTradePosition When locating the Trade Position on the Positions tab you must find a match by comparing both the Trade Account and Symbol. attached is the "OrdersAndPosition" image I never used simulated orders and I started up the tws and sc this morning (Australian time); the position you are looking at is the first and only activity so far |

Does the symbol look correct? It does not look correct to us. Notice the year is 2000.

you are right the year is 2000 in my previous email I referred to the Orders tab where the symbol is correct (I wrote of 3 orders) - sorry is the fact that the year is 2000 prove that the problem is on the IB side? |

It is on the Interactive Brokers side and we have communicated this to them: We have a user trading the following market:
K200-201509-KSE This is the symbol, expiration, and exchange. When TWS API sends a position() event, the "expiry" field which should be in the format YYYYMM, is returned as 200009. So you can see the year is incorrect. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point.
