If you are noticing performance issues in Sierra Chart more recently, then this is likely due to wider price ranges and increased trading activity.

To solve this problem refer to:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.48 - Basic Steps to Resolve Performance Issue in Sierra Chart

It says:
When the markets are more volatile, and there is a wider price range in a day, some studies can have longer calculation and drawing times. Although this depends upon the Input settings of the study. Studies that use the Volume at Price data will take longer to calculate and draw. This is one reason why you can notice a performance issue with increased market activity.

You should increase the Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Common Settings>> Intraday Data Storage Time Unit to 1 Second.

For example with crypto currency data on our servers we use 1 Second. Not 1 Tick because it is unmanageable. Sometimes, accuracy has to be reduced. Otherwise, it becomes an unmanageable case with handling 1 Tick Data.

Somewhat related to this, we are aware, that some of our systems, are under strain, due to all of the market activity, and there have been issues related to this, possibly data feed interruptions, and temporary missing historical data.

Problems have been identified primarily Storage I/O limitations, and we are getting the necessary new hardware to resolve.

Just in the last two weeks we have made a very large expenditure in new equipment and hardware upgrades. All of this work is going to be done throughout the rest of April and May. We are going to work quickly to get everything done.

All of our server network adapters are going to be upgraded to Nvidia 25 Gb adapters. We are getting the very best Nvidia PCI 4 adapters.

We have a new server, arriving next week that will be installed into the CME Aurora data center. Very powerful server. A Dell R650. With a new 10 Gb Internet connection we are getting from Zayo. This is equipped with, two dual port, Nvidia 25 Gb network adapters. 2 ports to the CME, and one port for the Internet.

There was also another thread, that we described our new 10 Gb NY4 connection for US equities data. We have that now. That has been a major relief for us knowing that we have full redundancy.

We also have a new 100 Gb connection over to Chicago coming in June.
