Can you tell me how the SC check box for Enable Financial Advisor Account Settings functions? Entering a position is not a problem because SC is not looking for a position. On exit though, there is no position in the Advisor Acct since it was distributed to the sub accounts. On an exit order, does SC ignore the lack of a position in the Advisor Acct and just send the order and let the settings in IB TWS handle it from that point, or does SC look through in any way to the sub accounts?
I don't have a Group, Method or Percentage in IB. Just a Profile. So I have my Profile Group listed in SC. If I try and list an Orders Account nothing functions, so I leave that blank. I do have Positions Accounts listed which are the sub accounts. With these settings, as long as I just use the trade functions in SC standard all works fine. It is when I try to add a custom spreadsheet feature for auto trading that a problem appears. And always on trying to flatten and close the position.(Target or stop setting). The problem is it appears that the exit order is sent, and sent and sent so I end up with a large reversed position.
I have read the documentation in SC and talked to IB. If I understand how SC functions with the Advisor box checked I'm hoping it will allow me to write the spreadsheet correctly. Thanks

No. This is outside the scope of our support. We do not fully understand how the Financial Advisor settings work. These values are passed to Interactive Brokers with orders.

Sierra Chart does rely upon the Trade Position for a symbol for automated trading. This is essential. This is why you need to probably use the Use Trade Fill Calculated Position option as the Financial Advisor documentation suggests you may need to do.

IB Financial Advisor accounts are complex, and Sierra Chart cannot possibly have perfect integration to them. So it would be best to avoid automated trading.

I understand and accept that SC does not support the IB Advisor settings therefore my question or comments are directed at user 23815 or any other good Samaritan user that wishes to help me. In the post dated 2013-05-10, user 23815 stated "With these settings, as long as I just use the trade functions in SC standard all works fine."

To that end, I have been only successful at sending orders to IB using the log in with FA settings. Does that constitute working fine? I am interested in daytrading futures so I need position tracking, targets stops, etc.

I would appreciate any input from users on this subject, or proven recommendations for setup to get what I need from the connection. If sending orders is the extent of what I should expect, that is fine too, I just would like to know definitively so I can quit barking up the wrong tree and go back to paying the man for block trading.
