Help with DOM settings Compression on NQ

Hello!

I would like your assistance regarding how I can modify the DOM settings for NQ, specifically to compress it.

I have already made the following changes:

1. Changed the tick size from 0.25 to 0.50
2. Set "1" in the Market Depth Combine Increment in Ticks
3. Selected "Yes" for Apply Combine Increment in Ticks to Recent Bid/Ask Volume Columns

However I encountered three issues:

1. I cannot increase the number of DOM levels from 5 to 10. Even though I tried changing this in Maximum Market Depth Levels, it remains at 5.
2. The Current Traded Bid/Ask Volume columns are not compressed - they remain uncompressed.
3. In the Price column of the DOM, I still see values like 19781.75 instead of only .50 or .00
I would like it to display in a way that is more familiar, showing only whole or 0.50 increments.

I have attached one screenshot where I have highlighted the differences to make it clearer.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Max

In general, we do not recommend changing the Tick Size. It is better to leave the Tick Size as it is and just change the "Market Depth Combine Increment in Ticks" to a larger value (2 in this case for what you have stated you did).

Changing the Tick Size will not impact the actual last price that is shown. That is the actual price regardless of what you set, so it will always show in 0.25 increments for this specific symbol.

1. Refer to the following:
File Menu: Not Receiving the Full Number of Market Depth Levels

2. Update to the current release. This was added in version 2746. Follow these instructions to update:
Software Download: Fast Update

3. See note above - this can not be changed as it is the actual price from the exchange.

I was able to resolve the issue with Market Depth levels thanks to your instructions. However, I still have a few questions regarding other settings.

1. You mentioned that you don't recommend changing the tick size to 0.50, but in that case, I notice strange gaps in my DOM when only changing the "Market Depth Combine Increment in Ticks" to 2 without adjusting the tick size to 0.50. Screenshot attached.

2. Current Traded Bid/Ask volume is still displayed in a weird way, I mean the numbers are showing normally now, but the volume bricks, they kind of merged into 2, which looks a bit ugly, can I change that? Screenshot attached.

Thanks!

What are the columns that have the "gaps" in the market depth?

With regards to the volume profile, this is how it is going to be with the Combine Increment in Ticks. The profile is going to follow the numbers as they are displayed. The other way was actually a fluke of the Tick Size not updating those profiles correctly.

Here, in the Buy/Sell columns, between them, namely all that have 0.25 or 0.75. There is just empty space. But when I change the tick to 0.50 size, everything is fine. I attach the screenshot.

*Regarding the volume bricks, they will look like this and this cannot be changed in any way?

Thanks for the help!

What you are really referring to is the placement of the grid and the display of the prices. To change this so it matches up with the combining increment, you need to enter a specific value for the "Scale Increment". For the situation you are showing where you are combining 2 ticks, you would need to set the Scale Increment to "0.50". Refer to the following:
Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Scale Increment (Scale Settings)
