Good morning, I've been using Sierra for a short time and this evening I noticed that at some point the platform completely froze. I know it could mainly be a PC problem (I have a MacBook Pro Intel i7 16GB RAM and when I open Sierra the fan starts to spin), but I wanted to ask for your advice to prevent this from happening. I have 4 chartbooks, but in the main one, there are 5 charts open. If I delete the chartbooks I don't use, will I resolve anything? I'm afraid it will freeze when I have an open position. Thank you.

When the system "Froze" were you not able to interact with the system at all? Or could you interact with the system (access Menu items, open a window) and were you just not getting data flowing as you were expecting?

We did have a problem yesterday afternoon (U.S. time) with data for the U.S. Equities, CFE, and CBOE Indices, so if you had charts for these and they stopped, then that was due to our issue.

What are the symbols you were viewing and what was the time when this issue occurred (please give a time zone as well).

Hi, it was around 10/10:30pm here in Italy. The graphics had frozen and Sierra was not responding. I used ES

Keep in mind that most of the products on the CME Group (in particular the ES) stop trading for one hour from 16:00 to 17:00 Central US time. This is close to your time of 22:00 in Italy, so we wonder if that was the issue.

Are you still having a problem at the moment?

If you have an issue again, first consider the above, then the other things to look at are defined at the following link:

I noticed that it always happened like the other time when I had a specific chart open. I don't know if it could be a coincidence. How can I find out?

The message you show in post #5 is not from our system. The implication of that message is that your computer is rebooting itself for some reason and is trying to shutdown Sierra Chart in the process. Whatever is causing that "Simulated log-off or shutdown" is what you need to look into.
