Hello, For Numbers Bars I like to use 1 Tick Size for pre market and 2 tick size for 09:30 open. Is it possible to automate this so all charts will update tick size based on time and we don't have to manually change tick size on dozens of charts. Thank You! |

There is no support for a "dynamic" tick size. Our recommendation would be to use two different charts. One for the Pre-Market and one for the Regular Trading Hours. This way, you can set a "Volume at Price Multiplier" for the pre-market to 2 and leave it as 1 for the regular trading hours. Note that we recommend using the "Volume at Price Multiplier" rather than changing the Tick Size. Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Volume at Price Multiplier for Historical/Intraday Chart (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Data >> Volume at Price menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thanks for the recommendation. Using "0.25" tick increment I like the ability to control details of each bar while "Volume at Price Multiplier" increment is by "1" therefore less detail to each bar. Are you recommending that because it has something to do with the way data is reflected on each bar Or you recommending because it helps with application performance? Thank You! |

You can get the same result in the Numbers Bars if you set the tick size to 0.5 or the Volume at Price Multiplier to 2. The Volume at Price Multiplier only applies to the items that deal with volume, such as the Numbers Bars and the Volume at Price studies. Changing the Tick Size is a change to the underlying foundation of a chart, so you need to make sure that you understand what doing that means. In particular, if you are actually going to trade from the chart, then you would need to update the "Currency Value per Tick". This also would have an impact on some drawing tools that depend on the Tick Size for determining angles, such as the "Gann Fan". In the end, it is up to you to choose whichever solution works for you.
