Rendering issue with OpenGL

I noticed a strange rendering issue in the "Clock - Real Time" and "CountDown Timer" studies when I activate OpenGL: A varying number of dots is rendered above the text (more precisely: above certain numbers) on the chart. There is a pattern in this however: dots are only shown above the numbers "2" and "6", and it's always one dot above a "2" and two dots above a "6". See attached screenshot for illustration. It's a very strange rendering issue because of this specific pattern. Everything else works nicely. And since OpenGL significantly improves the overall performance of my charts, I would like to keep it activated. However, the beforementioned rendering issue is slightly irritating because I'm using both studies (clock and countdown timer) very prominently on almost all my charts. Is this a known issue maybe? And is there any way to fix this (other than disabling OpenGL)? |

For the chart that shows this issue, please select "Chart >> Graphics Settings" and if the option for "Use Global Graphics Settings instead of These Settings" does NOT have a checkmark next to it, then please tell us what the "Fonts >> Chart Text" font is set to. If there is a checkmark next to "Use Global Graphics Settings Instead of These Settings", then close that window and select "Global Settings >> Graphics Settings >> Font" and tell us what font is being used for the "Chart Text". I'm using the font "Consolas" (please see attached screenshot). The rendering issue doesn't seem to occur with other fonts though. It seems to only occur when I use Consolas. |

Due to how OpenGL handles text, we are not surprised that there would be an issue with a particular font. There really is nothing we can do, as it is how OpenGL is handling it. You would either need to accept the dots, or use a different font.

Ok, thanks John for investigating this. Accepting the dots is no valid option because on fast changing texts (e.g. the countdown timer) those blinking dots are really distracting. Therefore, I guess I simply use another font for my charts. |
