I'm using the "Color Bars based on above/below Study" to color the price bars green or red depending on if the price is above/below a moving average, and it works, but when I change the "Price Bars" to a "Price Line" it no longer colors correctly. How do I fix it or is there a different study to use?

We are not seeing any issue with the "Color Bars Based on Above/Below Study" coloring the Main Price Graph regardless of what Draw Type it is set to (OHLC Bars, Candlestick, Line on Close, etc.). What exactly are you changing and what do you mean by "Price Line"? Oh, I forgot to mention that the study "Color Bars Based on Above/Below Study" is "Based On:" an "Add Additional Symbol". It does color the bars correctly until I set the "additional symbol" study's "Graph Draw Type" to "Line on Close". Hope that makes sense.

We are not able to reproduce this. The attached image is what we see for the situation you describe (the yellow line is the Moving Average study that is used to determine the Above/Below. Ok weird. I got it to work but the studies must be in a certain order. The "additional symbol" has to be the first study (top-most study), then the "color bars above/below study" in the middle, then the "moving avg" has to be the last study (bottom). It would not work any other way. Why would that be?

The order of the studies is the order in which they are displayed and calculated. So this can affect how the data is displayed. There are other items, such as an internal priority that also gets applied that makes the order not exact. Refer to the following: Chart Studies: Study Calculation Precedence And Related Issues We apologize for not thinking of that ourselves. It has been awhile since that kind of issue has come up, so it is not "top of mind". Ok thanks. Interestingly, the picture you uploaded has a different order of these studies and it still worked. Can you tell me the settings of your studies?

I can not recall the order in which I added the studies. Most likely it would have been "Add Additional Study", "Moving Average", and then "Color Bar Based on Above/Below Study".
