Hi, I have been experimenting in SIM with the "Keyboard Shortcuts>Trading Keyboard Shortcuts>Target Order Tick Up" and related commands as a means to rapidly change the position of target and stop orders. I have come to realize that for moves of a few to several ticks this method might be okay but for larger adjustments (20+ ticks) this would probably run afoul of exchange messaging limits. Rational modifications in markets like NQ/MNQ would often even exceed 100 ticks. One would want to move one's target quickly and by a large amount in fast markets and this could generate a lot of Cancel/Replace messages if done one tick at a time. Of course, this is only my speculation - perhaps Teton will throttle this activity in such a way that multiple "Target Order Tick Up" commands received in a very short time frame would be accumulated/aggregated before presentation of the order to the market. Ideally, there would be a "Target Order 'n' Ticks Up" keyboard shortcut. I am hopeful that Sierra Chart will have some special insight here and guide me to a good solution. I see that "Custom Trading Keyboard Shortcuts" do allow for a price to be calculated as an offset (-100 to 100) of the current market (LAST, BID or ASK) which is risky given how quickly these values might change. Ideally, one's current position price or prices of attached order (targets or stops) could be used as the reference price. Appreciate any advice you might be able to provide to help meet this objective - modifying target order prices quickly and by 'large' offsets to their own price or that of their "parent" orders fill price. Thanks, Paul |

You would be limited by the exchange, even with the Teton Order Routing service, as each movement requires a sending and receiving of the updated position. We do not have another option built into the system. We recommend looking around to see if someone has a solution for what you want to do. Otherwise, you could create your own custom study to do this. Refer to the following: Advanced Custom Study Interaction With Menus, Control Bar Buttons, Pointer Events https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartStudyAndSystemProgrammers.php For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Hi, Thanks for the response and the leads to follow up on. I really appreciate your timeliness. If possible, I wonder if you might expand a bit on the Sierra Chart link you provided - that is, what do you imagine the strategy might be via the "Menus, Control Bar buttons, Pointer.." idea, or more simply put, why did you suggest that? Thanks again. Paul |

You could create your own custom study that could be used in combination with a Keyboard Shortcut or Control Bar Button to create "Attached Target/Stop +/- n Ticks" where you can define the number of ticks, or use Points or whatever works for you. If you are not comfortable coding, then you could hire this out to one of the people on the list of programmers.
