Hi,

When SC is loaded, all the charts are missing the studies that have been applied to the charts.
When you right click the mouse most of the the options are missing.
This has been going on for over a week.
I've been downloading the newer updates of SC and sometimes it helps and when I shutdown and startup again, the same issue shows up.
I've downloaded the most current version of SC last night and it worked, now this morning it doesn't.
Please see attacked image.

First, update to the latest release - 2691. This has the issues with right-mouse options, keyboard shortcuts, and menus fixed.

With regards to the studies, we can not say. There is no reason for a study to be missing from your chart. We recommend loading a backup copy of the chartbook by following these instructions:

Hi John,

Yesterday I did install to release but it still didn't resolve the issue.
So, I re-installed it again and it worked.
That was yesterday.
Today 2024-10-10 When I started SC, it was the same issue, no right click menu and missing studies. It was (release 2691)
I re-installed release 2691 and it's working.

The attached image is from this morning.

Did you, by any chance, recover and older global settings file (Sierra4.config)? Or did someone share this file with you?

Hi,

At the end of today's trading day shut down my computer and then restarted and reloaded SC that was updated to release 2691.
The same issue with the right click of the mouse, remains.
So, I re-applied the release 2691 and then the issue was gone.

Then shut down and restarted SC and the mouse issue is back.
So, I re-applied the release 2691 and then the issue was gone.

I have done this 4 times already so, I know the issue remains.

In the image you provided where the right-mouse options are not showing properly, the version shows as 2671 (not 2691). Do you have multiple installations of Sierra Chart, where one is on an old version?

Hi John,

In the "SC Oil" that I do use there were 2 instances that I deleted. That did not help.

When I shut down and re-started SC, it opens up again in release 2671

In the attached image, I highlighted the path folder and the version #.

Somehow the update is not being saved and applied.

We are a bit stumped by this, as typically this situation occurs when there are multiple installations, but you definitely show that both versions are in the same installation folder. Additionally, this could not be caused by another program, as once the new version is installed, the old executable is gone. So there is no way that it could be restored.

When you state you "shut down and re-started SC", are you shutting down the computer, or just Sierra Chart?

When you start Sierra Chart is there any message about needing to update to a particular release, or anything about downloading a specific version of the software?

Hi John,

I "shut down and re-started the PC" and then opened SC.

When I start SC there is no message regarding this.

I added a image showing the start message that I always receive.

I added 2 images, showing the update version and the shut down the computer and restarted SC

Hi John,

I restart the PC and SC.

I started up in release 2671. Plus the studies are not displayed as per the attached image.

Please let us know when would be a good time for us to call and log onto your computer to see what is occurring. This just does not make any sense to us.

Please check the phone number at the following link and make sure it is correct. That is the number we will call:

Note that we call using Skype, so it may show up as no number or spam. When we setup the call, please be sure to pick up at that time regardless of what your caller ID states.

Hi John,

Found the problem

I have a shortcut on my desktop called "SC Oil".

I decided to look in the "SC Oil" folder and there is also another SierraChart_64 besides the SC Oil.
When I open "SierraChart_64", it loads to the correct version but not "SC Oil"

I have been using the desktop shortcut for over 5+ years and have never had a issue like this.
