Hi, need assistance with a couple of things: 1) I have a keyboard shortcut defined, to place a horizontal line on the chart, automatically snapping to the high/low of the candle where I click on. This used to work fine until now...looks like I accidentally changed some tool settings trying to fix a different issue, not sure what. Now, when I press on the keyboard shortcut, it places the horizontal line, but it doesnt automatically snap onto the high/low of the candle..but leaves the chart drawing(horizontal line) selected and it continues to move with my cursor pointer - not the desired behavior. I just want the shortcut to place the line with autosnapping to high/low and immediately deselect(decouple) from the chart drawing. Tool Settings -> Tool Options-->After Single Tool use change to ' is set to Chart Values. 2)Support Left Click to Select Chart Drawings (Global Settings >> Tool Settings >> General >> Tool Options) - Yes. Is there a way NOT to select chart drawing with Chart values/Crosshair tool? I frequently am in crosshair too mode, and end up accidentally selecting/moving chart drawings(lines), which is not desired behavior. I want to be able to move the drawings only with Hand tool, if possible. Thanks |

1. Check the Setting for "Tools >> Tool Settings >> General >> Keep Chart Drawing Selected After Creation". It sounds like you want to have this set to "No". Refer to the following: Chart Drawing Tools: Keep Chart Drawing Selected After Creation 2. There is not a way to only specify that you want to select chart drawings with the "Hand" tool. The option for "Support Left Click to Select Chart Drawings" is global, meaning it will apply with whatever tool you have selected at that time. Thanks for the response. 1) That was one of the first settings I checked . Both (Keep Chart Drawing Selected After Modification & Creation) are set to NO. Issue still persists. 2) OK, then I'll turn off the whole setting and move it with 'Move drawing' |

With regards to the Snapping, make sure the option for "Tools >> Auto Snap on Creation" is enabled (has a checkmark next to it). Also check the Snapping settings which are referenced at the following link: Chart Drawing Tools: Snapping (Global Settings >> Tool Settings >> General) With regards to the line staying selected after you place it, the setting we referenced should be the one that takes care of this. We do wonder though, if perhaps you had the setting for "Tools >> Tool Settings >> General >> Support Drag for Drawing Creation/Modification" set to "Yes" previously and now it is set to "No". By default this is set to "No", but your description of how the line is moving makes us think you may have had this set to "Yes" previously, but now it is set to "No". In particular, previously when this was working as you wanted, after you selected you Keyboard Shortcut, would you click one time and the line was drawn and placed (the above setting would have been "Yes"). Or, if you clicked once, the drawing was placed and then you could move it around and then click again to set its location (the above setting set to "No"). Yes, "Tools >> Auto Snap on Creation" was enabled. You're correct, the issue was with Tools >> Tool Settings >> General >> Support Drag for Drawing Creation/Modification" . Looks like I had this enabled earlier and now set to No. Once I reverted back to 'Yes', its working as intended (ie click once and the line was drawn & placed. Chart drawing tool immediately disengaged. Thanks again, |
