1. Check the Setting for "Tools >> Tool Settings >> General >> Keep Chart Drawing Selected After Creation". It sounds like you want to have this set to "No". Refer to the following: Chart Drawing Tools: Keep Chart Drawing Selected After Creation 2. There is not a way to only specify that you want to select chart drawings with the "Hand" tool. The option for "Support Left Click to Select Chart Drawings" is global, meaning it will apply with whatever tool you have selected at that time.
