Chart drawings are always out when rollover happens

Hello When I always do a rollover on the S&P 500 the chart drawings are always out is there a system that places the drawing on the new rollover symbol chart to the previous one automatically as it is time consuming keep removing the drawings? Thanks |

We do not know what you mean by "out". If you want the drawings to continue to display with the new symbol after rollover, then make sure the option for "Also Rollover Chart Drawing Symbols" is checked when you perform the rollover. Refer to the following: Changing to a New Futures Contract Month: Allowing Lines and Other Chart Drawings From Other Contract Months to Appear on the Current Contract If you do not wan the drawings to continue to be displayed with the new symbol after rollover, then make sure the option for "Also Rollover Chart Drawing Symbols" is NOT checked when you perform the rollover. You will also want to ensure that the option for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Drawings >> Show Chart Drawings for Different Symbol" is set to "No". Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Show Chart Drawings For Different Symbols (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Drawings menu) Note that even if the drawings are not displayed, they are still contained in the chart data. So if you open the "Manage Chart Drawings Window" you will still see them listed. You can then delete them from that window, if you like. I sent a Image of the drawings out from doing the rollover Say I draw the lines in the sand on the volume profile of where the most volume is and used a rectangle to mark the area and when I do the rollover to the new chart contract the drawing is not inline with the volume profile I drawn it on and is out. |

In general, you are now looking at different data since you rolled over to a new contract. So the rectangles you drew at a particular level are still at that level, but you are looking at a completely different set of profiles. This doesn't answer our question. We need to know if you are using a Continuous Futures Contract and whether you are using Back-Adjustments or not. Refer to the following: Continuous Futures Contract Charts In particular, if you ARE using a Continuous Futures Contract, and you are not back-adjusting, then the data from the previous symbol should match to those rectangles, but it depends on where the rollover is occurring.
