Save Main Window is not working for me on a sub instance, it returns a black image every single time. Individual chart images are working fine though. I've gone through the settings in case i messed something up and i can't figure out what's wrong. Does this work on instances?

The only reason you should get a black image when trying to capture a window is if you had another application in front of the Sierra Chart window when you were trying to get the image capture.

How exactly are you trying to get the image for the sub-instance? What are you selecting or doing?

I'm using it from a chart control bar that i added for quick access. I've also used it from Edit->Screen Images->Save Main Window to File on the main tool bar and i get the same result. The sub-instance is on a separate monitor by itself with nothing in front. I've tried to get the image with Sierra being the only open application and even with the main instance minimized and the sub instance being the only visible application on all my monitors, but still didn't work.

I just tried moving the instance to another monitor and it seems to be kind of working? The window shows up around the top right of the image with a decent size of the top half cut off. It looks as if it tried to take a 4k image in a 1080p monitor. It seems it might be a problem with resolution? The monitor where the main instance is running is 4k and the other are 1080, maybe that's causing some weird behavior?

This is a system specific issue most likely related to security settings, preventing the screen image from being taken.

It does not matter if another program is in front of the Sierra Chart window. The image is copied from the desktop window and we think it is security settings preventing that from being taken. Maybe you could run Sierra Chart with administrator level access.

Gave running as Admin a few tries but it didn't help unfortunately. Also went through the security settings on my pc and I can't really find anything that seems to be preventing that kind of behavior.

The issue is definitely being caused by the difference in monitor resolution between the main and sub instance like i mentioned earlier. I just switched the main monitor down to 1080 like the others and the feature started working and taking the image like it should. Then i tried switching back to 4k and the issue started again.

It is not that the image isn't being taken. The best way i can explain is that it seems to be taking a 4K image and the window ends up outside of the canvas, that's why there's nothing. If i move the sub instance to my 3rd monitor instead which is a bit smaller and take the image there, a lot of the window does show up in the image, but only around the top right. It literally looks like it tried to put a 1080p image into a 4k canvas with some of the top outside of it being cropped off
