Question Based on the setting linked below, a strategy will only be able to react to data with a delay of 1ms or greater, is this correct? In other words, if there is a strategy that requires less of a delay (say in the us/microsecond timespan), it would not be able to function on SC data feeds? -- Remote Buffer Delay Send Time In Milliseconds (Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> General URL: Sierra Chart Server Settings: Remote Buffer Delay Send Time In Milliseconds (Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> General) It states "This setting only affects Sierra Chart data feeds. It controls the transmission interval of data from the server, specified in milliseconds. Using a value of 0 uses the default." |

First, there is absolutely no way you can ever expect data delivery, down to the millisecond or even within a few milliseconds. That is just not possible at all. It is inefficient and impossible to achieve. Anyone claiming that, is lying to you. You will need to have a direct multicast feed with the exchange, and have co-location, and the exchange data center. So we are not going to accept, that there is something wrong here.
