Hello, I've recently built a chartbook where the charts are either NQ or ES. I've rolled over the ESU4 and NQU4, but each timle I open the chartbook it keeps loading old tickers like ESZ15. Any clue how to correct this please? I used Translate Symbols to current services, Delete and Download, etc. but it keeps repeating the same problem and the charbook becomes less responsive. Thanks

You are using a "Continuous Futures Contract" option and the number of days to load data is very large - so large that it is needing to go back to 2015 for data.

Reduce the number of days to load to start. If you do not need a Continuous Futures Contract, then set that option to None.

Refer to the following:
Chart Settings: Days to Load for Intraday Chart Data Type (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Load Data Limiting Method: Days to Load menu)

Chart Settings: Continuous Contract (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu)

ThanK you John. I used Continiuous Futures Contract and only 10 days historical data, BUT with Rithmic for Trading and Denali for data feed. I just found out that "The Sierra Chart Continuous Futures Contract Chart functionality cannot be reliably used with the Rithmic because Rithmic uses single digit years in the symbols, instead of 2 or 4 digit years. This creates a severe limitation with the amount of historical data that can be accessed. Therefore, this feature must be considered unsupported when using Rithmic. The solution is to install another installation of Sierra Chart set to use the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service."

So may be the problem comes from Rithmic, because at least once when opening the charbook it converted, without action on my side, ES into MES and NQ into MNQ.

Thank you!

Yes, there is a limitation of 5 years for the maximum amount of data that can be loaded into a chart for symbols that use a single digit year, of which Rithmic is one. This does not, in any way, make the Continuous Futures Contract option not supported - just limited to 5 years.

As you state, a way around this limitation, would be to have a second installation of Sierra Chart with the "Current Selected Service" set to "SC Data - All Services". Just be aware that the symbols are going to be different between the two installations.

The symbol that is shown in the original post would be one associated with having your service set to "SC Data - All Services". Given this, is your question answered?

You definitely should never have had your symbols changed from ES to MES and from NQ to MNQ. There had to be some other reason for this.

Opening a Chartbook would not cause this:
without action on my side, ES into MES and NQ into MNQ.

This cannot be true:

. I used Continiuous Futures Contract and only 10 days historical data,

The charts images you posted are loading many years of data. Back to 2015. You clearly have posted this. Or, you have a chart set to 2015 contract.

First, I'd like to thank you for your quick reply.
Second, I don't mean to critsize SC. I'm just reporting a problem which I've encountered and every I stated above has been experienced. I'd not invent situations out of the blue.
Third, I've removed "Continuous Futures Contract" option, manually deleted all the *.scid and *.dly in the data folder and restarted SC and everything works well.
FYI, my typical settings for each chart is as attached screenshots ("Continuous Futures Contract" option and 10 days history).
