How do I create orders at the area I'm clicking on the chart?

I'm brand new here getting things setup today.
The way I'd like to trade is to be able to click on the chart (below the current price) to create a buy LMT at that exact location where my mouse pointer is. Along with a take-profit/stoploss attached to it. and Vice-versa, when clicking above the current price a sell LMT order is submitted.

Is this possible to do?

I know I can just click on the DOM but I don't use the DOM. I only use charts and hotkeys.

The way I traded in my last platform was if I was interested in buying at a certain level, I would create a hotkey for (buy limit - Bid limit offset -99) and then would just drag the order on my chart where i wanted it to be. and vice-versa for selling.

What is the best way to chart trade for me here on Sierra chart?
It would be really great if I can just click on the chart to start an order at that location.

What you want is definitely possible, I enter every order this way. There's lots of documentation to familiarize yourself with, but it's all there.

First you want to understand Chart Trade Mode:

Chart Trading and the Chart DOM: Chart Trading

You can enter orders from the chart several ways. You can right-click anywhere on the chart to bring up a trade orders menu, see here:

Chart Trading and the Chart DOM: Entering Orders From the Chart

You can also add BUY and SELL columns next to the price axis - this is what I do. Sierrachart calls this the Chart DOM/Order Entry Ladder. See here:

Chart Trading and the Chart DOM: Using the Chart DOM / Order Entry Ladder

You can customize what happens when you click the columns above/below current price:

Global Trade Settings Windows: Chart DOM Settings

I like using the Order Entry Ladder along with the chart values/crosshair tool. This way the horizontal crosshair line is visible at the exact price level when the cursor is over the Buy or Sell column. Orders can be entered near the current price or far away, then dragged into place. This method requires clicking in the appropriate Buy or Sell column, not just anywhere on the chart, but I prefer it vs. the right-click menu method.

You'll have to experiment with the different methods, but you should be able to find a configuration that works for you.

Glad you found something that works for you.

I went thru a similar learning curve, and the hotkey method of entering orders eventually failed me in a fast-moving market scenario. I couldn't move quickly enough from mouse to keyboard for my liking.

Anyway SC has tons of functionality, it's quite a rabbit-hole at first for sure.

for times like that I just use my market buy and market sell hotkeys. This is more for planned out trades.

Also be aware of the following setting that allows you to use a modifier key with the mouse to be able to "extend" the DOM actions:
Chart Settings: Extend Chart DOM Across Entire Chart When Using Ctrl(Buy) / Shift(Sell) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading menu)
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:
