I can only see stocks from the Nasdaq, I can't find any other stocks

I click on 'File' - > 'Find Symbol' -> 'US Equities - Consolidated Tape' -> 'Selected Symbol' , I look up the symbol or by description. I click on get symbol or search by description, but nothing happens, I simply am on the same screen. Do I need to enable anything?

When I go under 'NASDAQ TotalView', I can pull up those stocks in the drop down.

I'm currently exploring using SC for stocks with IBKR and historical works for now, but will look to get real-time after doing some more research.

I figured it out. My data feed was set to 'Interactive Brokers'. I changed it to "SC Data - All Services". Does this mean I've been using the 'Interactive Brokers' data feed this whole time? and not the SC data feed that I've been subscribed to?

This is what I observed after changing the data feeds. Does this mean I need to keep switching data feeds to view either futures or stocks?

'Interactive Brokers'
-Futures: Can see real time data
-Nasdaq: Can see delayed data
-Consolidated Tape: Cannot pull up any other symbol

'SC Data All Service'
-Futures: Cannot see any real time data
-Nasdaq: Can see delayed data
-Consolidated Tape: Can see delayed data

As to what data you are getting it depends on how you were entering the symbol. If you were entering the standard symbol (like TSLA) then that would give you the delayed streaming data from us (it would be delayed since you do not have the exchange active with us). If you were entering the symbol as Interactive Brokers needs it (such as TSLA-STK-SMART-USD), the you would be getting the data from Interactive Brokers.

It also depends on your setting for "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds". This should be set to "Yes" and there is no reason to change it. If it is not set to "Yes", then change it to "Yes", select OK to close that window and then select "File >> Reconnect".

Do not worry about changing the service to "SC Data - All Services". If you are trading with Interactive Brokers, then you just need to enter the correct format to get the data you want.

The list of symbols for stocks in File >> Find Symbol is going to be limited as there are too many to list. You need to just type in the symbol you want. Again, you are not setup to get any real-time data from us for U.S. Equities, so in order to get the real-time data from Interactive Brokers you need to use the Interactive Brokers symbology.

With regards to Futures, the only reason you would not be getting the data when connected to SC Data - All Services is that you did not change the symbols. Each service uses different symbols, so you need to make sure you change the symbols when you change services. Again, we recommend not changing the services around unless you have a need to. Just leave it with Interactive Brokers.

If you are wanting to get data for U.S. Equities from us, then you would follow the instructions at the following link:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: *Setup Instructions: All Other Exchanges*

If you do this, then you will need to enter the symbol as is needed for our data. For the U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape, this would be the standard stock symbol (such as TSLA). Then you would need to setup a "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" that is the Interactive Brokers symbol. Refer to the following:
Chart Settings: Trade and Current Quote Symbol (text box) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu)

Thanks for this. To summarize my understanding of the symbols

Using IBKR Data
- Price look up: If I want to use IBKR data, I need to enter this format. i.e. – “MSFT-STK-SMART/NASDAQ”
- Trade: When I trade, I don’t need to change the format. Since this is the correct IBKR format

Sierra Chart Data
- Price Look up: Standard ticker like ‘MSFT’
- Trade: When I trade, I need to go to ‘Chart’ -> ‘Chart Setting’ -> ‘ Trade Current Quote Symbol’ -> I need to update with the correct IBKR format. This needs to be done for EVERY SYMBOL that I plan on trading. <- is this correct?

Yes, this is correct.

With regards to the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol", however, you can change the symbol settings to enter a placeholder "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" that can use wildcards. This would make it so any time you open a stock symbol, the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" will be filled out as you need it for Interactive Brokers.

To give you an example, for MSFT, you would need to edit the symbol settings for '????' (4 question marks representing the 4 characters in MSFT). Within the symbol settings for ????, you would edit the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" and enter the following:
????-STK-SMART/NASDAQ

When you open a chart for MSFT, the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" will then be filled in as "MSFT-STK-SMART/NASDAQ".

You would want to do this change for symbols like "?", "??", "???", "????", and "?????".

Refer to the following:
