I just figured out how to disable trading when my daily loss limit is met. I would like to also disable trading during the ETH for my live account. Can you direct me to change the settings to disable trading before the market open?

If you are using one of the built-in trading studies or the Spreadsheet System for Trading, then you can control the hours where trading is allowed in those studies. Refer to the following for an example:
Trading System Based on Alert Condition: Inputs

Otherwise, the only other option within Sierra Chart is to flatten at a set time, so it will close you out at a certain time, but it does not stop further trading. Refer to the following:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: A >> Flatten And Cancel at Set Time

on the global settings profit loss managment, I setup the trading day to start at 9:40. So that once my daily loss limit is filled and i have to wait for the next day, I won't be able to trade until 10 minutes after the market opens on weekdays. Is that something that will work?

Yes, this will work, as long as you have hit your loss limit. But it will not stop any overnight trading if you have not hit that loss limit.

correct. Thankyou. That's a good start for now. So I can build the habit. Then last question, I have a trailing stop setup on the profit loss management. SO if my position is in profit and my trailing stop gets hit, that doesn't mean I won't be able to trade for the rest of the day, right? so in other words, the trailing stop getting hit doesn't mean the DLL got hit, right?

Correct. The Daily Profit/Loss Management works off the Net Profit/Loss calculation. It has nothing to do with whether a position is closed out with a Target or a Stop. As long as you have not met your loss limit, you will not be stopped from further trading.

Either way it doesn't matter. I will just take profit manually and put stop to breakeven. If I get stopped out at break even and then I can't trade the rest of the day. That's fine by me. I just have one request, can you enable blocking trading during the ETH. That's really important to me and I am finding it hard to stop trading durring ETH. I have been struggling with this issue a long time. If I can just find a way to disable trading durring ETH, it will help me a lot.

The before mentioned methods don't help with blocking trading durring ETH. I enter trades manually not with studies, and I would like to disable trading durring ETH not just close my trades at the end of RTH.

The only way to do this would be for you to create a custom study that locks trading at the specific time and unlocks it at another specific time. Refer to the following:
sc.SetTradingLockState()
