You need to use the Zig Zag Oscillator subgraph for this. When the oscillator changes from negative to positive, or positive to negative is when you have an inflection point in the Zig Zag. Therefore, to get an alert when a Zig Zag changes direction, you would use a formula like the following:
=OR(AND(ID1.SG9[-1] < 0, ID1.SG9 > 0), AND(ID1.SG9[-1] > 0, ID1.SG9 < 0))

Where ID1 is the ID of the Zig Zag study and SG9 is the Zig Zag Oscillator subgraph.

Suggestion
There should be several standard visual arterial including a vertical line and others that are available sitar to the Alert Sounds so that a study alert would also generate a visual indication as well as a sound.
This would eliminate the need to code two studies for one condition

Use the formula in post #2 on the Alerts tab of the Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study, then use the Background draw style, set to Width 2.
This is the best available.

Unfortunately, there is no Vertical Line draw style.

How about Sierra creating a new study that draws a full line?
I think it would be widely appreciated.
Thanks

I can't find any "wide".
How about simply adding a Vertical Line option?
Thanks
