I am running into a very peculiar problem. My charts are set to show evening session, no to new bar at session start and no to apply intraday session times to intraday chart.

Every morning I have to go and set these settings on each chart again. At night I turn my computer off. The next morning I find that evening session setting automatically goes to no and start new bar at session start goes to yes. THESE ARE NOT MY SETTINGS.

I want charts to always show evening sessions and never start a new bar at session start.

Is this a bug or perhaps some setting is not right. Please help.

Are you saving a Chartbook that has a chart on it that you are always opening? Or are you opening a new chart each time?

Are you changing the symbol for the chart along the way for any reason? As when you change the symbol, it is going to use the settings in the Symbol Settings for these items.

Another possibility is that you have the "Session Times" linked to another chart, although this would be surprising given what you state. Refer to the following on this:
Chart Settings: Chart Linking >> Session Times (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Linking menu)

Hi,
1. Session times are not linked.
2. I am not changing symbols.
3. I am always opening the same chart book.
4. I am always saving all before closing.
5. I have a large number of charts in the chart book. It does not retain session time settings for any chart.

Hi,
Both are unchecked as per your documentation.
you do not want to use the Session Times as defined in the Symbol Settings when changing the symbol, then follow the below instructions:

Make sure Global Settings >> Symbol Settings >> Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart is unchecked.
Make sure Chart >> Chart Settings >> Session Times >> Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart is unchecked.

Session times are not linked.

There must be another setting somewhere that is causing the problem.

Please help. I have a large number of charts. It is not practical to change settings on charts every morning.

I also have a suggestion.
Please add a Settings so that universally evening sessions are used and new bars at Session open are not started without having to go through all symbols or Symbol patterns.

Such a setting will be very helpful.

We are not able to reproduce the issue that you are seeing. When we first opened the Chartbook, some of the charts were not set properly, so we went through and set each one to have "Use Evening Session" set to "Yes" and "New Bar at Session Start" set to "No". Then we closed the chartbook and re-opened it (saving the Chartbook along the way) and every chart has kept these settings as they were set.

We even closed our copy of Sierra Chart and opened it again, but with the same result - the settings are set properly for every chart (excluding the ones that are tied to the Quote Boards).

We do not know why you are having this issue. Please try opening a new Chartbook and open just a few charts and set them up as you want them, then try closing and opening and see what occurs.

We set each chart to have the following:
- Use Evening Session: Yes
- New Bar at Session Start: No

Then when we save, close, and reopen the chartbook, each chart has these settings set the same as they were when we closed the chartbook.

Hello,
After some changes, the evening session is retained in settings. Before the market opens at 9:30am, premarket data shows. At 9:30am, premarket data disappears. A new bar at session start is checked no.

I want pre market data to continue to show at and after 9:30am. How do I fix it. You have a copy of the chartbook.

I am having trouble with intraday charts.
For Daily chart

Session Start Time 9:30
- Session End Time 4:00
- Evening Start Time4;00
- Evening End Time 9:3]
- Chart Data Type - where is this?

The image you showed was a Daily chart, not an Intraday chart.

Part of the problem is related to the times you have entered. You can not have the same End and Start times, they need to be separated by 1 second. Please change your times to the following:
- Session Start Time: 09:30
- Session End Time: 03:59:59
- Evening Start Time: 04:00:00
- Evening End Time: 09:29:59

The "Chart Data Type" is right below the Session Times on the same page. But if you are actually dealing with Intraday charts and not the daily, then we do not need this information. Make the changes we specify above and let us know if you still have an issue on Monday morning.

Now session times are correct. At 9:30 premarket data disappeared in charts and a new bar started. Based on the settings, this should not be happening.
You have a copy of the chartbook. Please have it active and see fof yourself what happens at 9:30.

Please keep me informed. This problem needs to be fixed asap. Hopefully this is a setting issue.

We need to know exactly one chart that shows this issue. Which chart number in the chartbook you gave us is it?
