Hi
I would like your advice on entering the market and I am not sure what to do. I have tried a lot.
I trade the Nasdaq market which is very fast.
Situation. When the fast move starts, I need to enter a STOP order into that move, but it will be 10 ticks from the current price (below/above the current price) and will follow the price until the price reverses. The moment the price reverses the STOP order will then be activated.
I have tried various trailing stop order options, but I have never gotten an order stop to open 10 ticks from the current price. Sometimes the order fills right away, sometimes the order opens 20 ticks or more from the price and I haven't figured out what I'm doing wrong.
What do I need to set everything up please.
Thank you for your help.

You should be able to use the "Trailing Stop" order for this. When you enter this as the primary order from the Trade Window you have to enter the price at which you want this to be placed, but you can also set this up to be done through the DOM using the mouse.

In either case, the offset from the current market price when you place the order is going to be the trailing amount. So as the price moves away from the stop, it will move with the price and when the price moves towards the stop, it will not move.

Refer to the following for this order type:

Thanks for your reaction.
Nasdaq is a very fast market and I don't want to enter a trade with a mouse or from the Trade Window. Is it possible to enter a Trailing Stop command via a keyboard shortcut, e.g. 10 ticks from the current price (Market - 10 ticks), and then the Trailing Stop will start following the market? So far all my attempts have been in vain. Thank you.

Yes, you can do this by creating a Custom Trading Keyboard Shortcut. Refer to the following:
