Hello

When trading, if a live position has been placed on the market and suddenly by any way my computer losses connection and shuts down, would my stop loss and Take profit lines still be in affect in that market that is traded?

It depends on the trading service you are using and the type of orders you are using (OCO or Bracket). Refer to the following:
Attached Orders: General Management of Attached Orders
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

Hello

Sorry my mistake CQG will be used for order routing only as my broker is with AMP.

I have been reading on your website and it recommends to use Teton than CQG for order routing so can you tell me:

1. All the fees when using it.
2. how long has Teton been going and how reliable it is.

Just want to know as well for my reference:

1. what are your customer service open times.
2. what's the best email to use to contact Sierra for problems
3. Does Sierra have a contact number.

Thanks

1. The fees you will incur using Teton versus CQG are going to be mostly dependent on your broker, as they set most of the fees. The one difference is the "Order Routing Fee", which typically runs about $0.10 per side. Teton does not have this fee, so you will save money on this aspect.

2. Teton Order Routing has been working for about 2 years now. There was only 1 time that there was an issue, and it only stopped the entry of new orders. Any existing orders were dealt with properly.

1. We do not have specific customer service hours. We have people that monitor our Support Board nearly 24/7, although the core hours where someone is specifically available is from 09:00 - 17:00 Central US. Time - basically when the U.S. markets are open, which is what most of our customers are trading.

2. We do have an email - support@sierrachart.com, but this should not be used for support issues/questions. You should post any issues to this Support Board, it is our main support outlet and our highest priority.

3. We do not have a phone number you can call for issues.

Hello

OK thanks

1. Is there any other fees for using Teton and how easy is it to set up?

2. If my computer losses connection by any way during a live trade position is on, will my stop loss and take profit lines still remain active when using Teton?

3. If by any reason my computer is offline and I could not access Sierra chart or its website to make an urgent flatten to all positions, who do I need to speak to?

4. Just want to confirm that customer service open times is 9am - 5pm everyday or Sun:9am - Fri:5pm?

Thank you

1. There are no other fees for using Teton, but just keep in mind that you will have the other fees that your broker assigns.

2. The Stop Loss and Take Profit orders are held on the server, so you do not need to worry about your local computer. The only caveat to this is the "Market if Touched" order type and any order specifically set to be "Client Side".

3. You always call your broker to handle trades when you can not do them from your computer.

4. We have people looking over the boards pretty much 24 hours a day 7 days a week, so do not be surprised if you get a response in the middle of the night. But, in terms of core hours that we can "guarantee" someone is working is 9-5 Monday through Friday.

Thank you

1. What do you mean by - market if touched order type and any order specifically set to be client side.

2. I have read on your website that you are stopping email alerts and moving to telegram. does that also include email alerts to show when I have had a response to a question from Sierra chart?

Thanks

1. "Market if Touched" is a specific order type that is NOT server managed, it is only client (so on your local Sierra Chart). Refer to the following:
Order Types: Market If Touched

And by "order specifically set to be client side" means order types such as "Limit if Touched - Client". Since this has "Client" in the name, it is specifically held only on the client computer and not sent to the server. Refer to the following as an example:
Order Types: Limit if Touched - Client

2. That is not about the notifications of a response to the support board. It is about the Simple Alerts that you setup and have them set to notify you via email. It does not sound like you have any of these setup.

Hello

So just to confirm if my computer gone offline for any reason during using a "market if touched" and "Limit if touched" orders, unless they was hit and a live position was placed during the time my computer was online, them orders will not be executed and there positions will be lost.

Thanks

This is correct. If you are using specific client side orders such as "Market if Touched" then if your Sierra Chart is not running, for whatever reason, then that order is not available to the market and it will not be executed. Worse yet, if you later turn on your system, it's possible that these orders could become active when you start Sierra Chart, which could result in a position being opened (or closed) due to these orders going into effect at that time.

Plain and simple, unless you have a specific reason for using them, we do not recommend using client side orders.

Great stuff thanks

I am just using the buy market and sell market buttons only and will not bother with MIT and LIT side orders.

How do I set up Teton order routing instead of CQG?

Thanks

1. What's the difference between OCO and Bracket orders?

2. During a live position is on and trading, if I lose connection and my computer shuts down, when I do access Sierra chart again, would it still show my entry, stop loss and take profit lines still?

3. How do you do this and I guess this will work even if my computer loses connection and shuts down? - User controllable daily loss limit in addition to what can be set by the broker. User controllable profit management

4. As I need to contact my broker to set up Sierra Chart direct CME order routing service, The older TT (Trading Technologies)is like CQG order routing?

1. To be absolutely truthful - I have never been able to figure out the difference myself. Here is one item I have found that gives a conflicting bunch of answers:
https://nexusfi.com/traders-hideout/56660-oco-vs-bracket-when-would-you-apply.html

2. The lines would only continue to show if the orders are still active. If the orders were closed out, then the lines will be removed.

3. The best option is to see if your broker has an option for this. If you are using the Teton Order Routing service, then this should be available (not all of the brokers offer it yet, but they are starting to).

4. Sorry, we are not understanding the question. The old TT-based order routing service that we had is no longer offered. They both worked essentially the same way, but with the TT one we used TT to actually submit the orders to the CME Group, whereas with our Teton service, we do this ourselves.

Ok thanks

In the Sierra chart teton order routing setup instructions it says "Contact your broker and let them know you that you want to use the Sierra Chart direct CME order routing service. This is not the older TT (Trading Technologies) based order routing service. This new service does not involve TT in any way."

Do not worry about the TT stuff. That was an older system we had in place before we connected directly to the CME Group ourselves. Just let your broker know you want to use our direct CME Order Routing called "Teton Order Routing".

Hello

just got a few questions

1. As I am with AMP broker, user controllable loss limit will still work with Teton?
2. Would you say that trading from 9:30am - 3:45pm NYUS time be ok and it would still be in the day trading session for S&P 500?

Hello

Is there a setting where my trade can not be entered or it would be flattened automatically if there is no stop loss and take profit line?

No. There is no control for this situation as it is perfectly legitimate to enter a trade without a Stop or Target.
