I updated SierraChart to version 2590 and the chart update became choppy (it's not smooth anymore). In my chart (pure Price chart with best bid/ask data) I use display interval of 20 ms. I found in the description of the version 2577 that new Chart>>Chart Settings>>Performance Parameters (2) has been added. The default values were 300 ms and 100 ms. I set them to 20 ms and 100 ms but it didn't help. So I downgraded SierraChart to the version 2569 which doesn't have these new display interval parameters and the problem was solved. Now the chart is updating price and bid/ask data smoothly.

For now I can live with the version 2569 but what do you think about the situation ?

Those new performance parameters, are not the cause. Lowering them, assuming they have any impact would only theoretically decrease performance for a chart. However, probably not making any practical difference. In most cases they would not be applicable for a chart and therefore the settings do not make any difference.

We definitely think the issue is on your side. Perhaps if you are running security software this security software is treating a new version differently and impacting its performance.

There are no performance issues whatsoever a newer versions. This we are certain of. We can only refer you to help topic 30:

Version 2590 suddenly started working ok.

I don't know what happened, but after some time I upgraded to the version 2590 again (directly from the Zip files) and now the price and bid/offer is updated smoothly.

So it looks like the problem doesn't exists anymore.
