Spreadsheets calculate in a specific order, as outlined in the documentation: Spreadsheet Systems, Alerts and Automated Trading: Order of Formula Column Processing and Internal Calculation Order It states: When the formula results in columns K through Z (last formula column by default) are processed for Trade Order or Alert signals by the Spreadsheet System for Trading or Spreadsheet System/Alert studies, column K is evaluated first, then L, then M, and so on through and including the last formula column (by default column Z).
But what about column H? When is it calculated? |

This is outside the scope of our support. Because the calculation order is going to be determined upon the cell formulas and how they reference each other. It is quite complex how it all works.

I see, yes that makes sense if there are any calculations that reference other cells etc. But for the sake of this question, let's assume any formulas in H only reference J (for rounding floating points, etc.). Does it basically follow that columns calculate from left to right, top to bottom? So H1:Hxxx first, then J1:Jxxx, K - Z, etc.?

I eventually put all order logic in col. J, below row 113. Column H experiences auto-delete when the number of spreadsheet rows is reduced to a small value for purposes of replay. Any values in col. H below the last row with DT.OHLCV data just disappear. I decided not to put any order logic out in remote columns (like CA, etc.) in case calculations there are significantly slower. |

Yep I noticed the same about column H, annoying so I'm just used to copying and pasting it back after reducing bars. Using column J below the dynamic data is a worthy idea though, thanks for sharing!

That will work, until SC adds new items in Column J.A few years ago there were no items below row 80. |
