Price change per time period?

I did some searching but could not find how to call out price change per a certain time frame.

For example: 30 minutes C > 0.20

I also am curious of how to add volume into it. Is it simply: V > 10,000 ?

TIA

We are not understanding your example as "C" stands for the Close (or Last) of the bar, and we also do not understand the .20 since you state you want number of price changes over time, which would be an integer number.

Please give us some more specifics on what exactly you want to do along with where you want to do it (is this an Alert you are trying to create, or a display of the information, or something else).

Hi John,

Sorry for the confusion.

The "C" Was for Close.

Basically, I am looking for a way to find stocks that have moved 2% in 30 minutes. I would also like to add a volume number to that such as 500,000 shares for example.

I am sort of assuming "V" would be Volume?

In the Price Change Since open I am using the study ID and Subgraph with the integer (ex. ID1.SG1 > 0.025)

Hope this makes sense.

What you are doing is the right idea. Just keep in mind that since you are using the "Price Change Since Open" study, if you have it set to 30 minutes, then you are looking at every 30 minute period and the change since the last period started (i.e. 08:00 starts a period and then 08:30, etc.). But, since you are wanting a percentage, you should use the "Percent Change Since Open" study instead.

Therefore to get an alert when the "Percent Change Since Open" is more than 2.5% and the volume of the current bar is greater than 500000, then your alert formula would be the following:
=AND(ID1.SG1 > 0.025, V > 500000)

Thanks John,

Actually I am using the % change, I mis-spoke,

Ahhh, okay, so it is not a hard % change since open of 9:30 US Equities, it is open of each bar. Perfect!
,
Thanks as always!

Just use a Horizontal Line at Time study and set it to 9:30am ET and then use a spreadsheet formula study to measure the distance of C (last price) from this line :-)

Thanks,

I don't even think I have to. I was not realizing the indicator was the "Open of the bars time frame. I thought that % Since Open Study was hard coded for the days open. So using 30 minute candles works perfect for me.

Thanks for the ideas though, I will play with it as I want to learn spreadsheets.

"Horizontal Line at Time study and set it to 9:30am "

I didn't realize you could stuff like this so thank you.

I did not know about spreadsheet formula study also. It will open you to the world of possibilities.
