i just want to share my experience of getting order routing service switched from CQG to TETON for my AMP accounts. it is much more involved that the simple instruction they posted on their website.

i use SC to trade S&P 500 futures (ES).
I used Denali datafeed but have been using CQG for order routing service only.
i decided to switch order routing from CQG to TETON this week.

1) I sent an email to their "support" team to make the switch. they wrote me back asking me to log into their portal website and submit the request.

2) they did not provide detailed instruction so, apparently, i submitted the request incorrectly so i had to email them and they asked me to submit the request again.

3) after i submitted the requests (for two accounts), i got not feedback so i called their trade desk and they told me that the request will be executed at 10:30 AM Central Time.

4) Eventually, after one and half days, i got an email and text saying the request is completed.

5) In SC platform, in General Settings => Data/Trade Service Settings, made the switch to TETON and AMP and the platform prompted asking me if i want the open charts to be reloaded with data using new symbol for the newly chosen services (TETON).

6) It took a few seconds for the charts to reload and everything works fine now.

The transition was not difficult but AMP did not provide a complete/clear instruction in my opinion. I also felt like they were fighting the switch or not cooperating making it unnecessarily difficult and time consuming which is understandable since they lose order processing fee.

I just wanted to share my experience for those you are either considering the switch.
good luck.

But this is paid to CQG:
since they lose order processing fee.

Should not matter to them.

We have followed up with them regarding this.

We think it is more a matter of their back-office systems being more centered around CQG.

We will work with them to improve integration to Teton. There is one outstanding item they want to do to improve back-office integration to Teton and we will do our best to get that done with them this coming week or shortly thereafter.

i assumed AMP gets part of CQG order processing fee.

last week, there was a day when some CQG order processing servers were acting up and not executing orders properly. CQG order processing users could not exit trades. all day they sent several emails to users updating the situation and suggesting not to trade.

this has happened before. i bet this type of situation causes more traders wanting to try TETON if they are using SC.

------------------

a different questions...
do the bracket orders reside on your server so if my terminal is working while in trade the orders will execute on your server?
(fyi, i use your datafeed and order processing service - Delani and Teton)

Yes this could be:

You will not have an issue like this with Teton:

while you're at it, can you ask AMP why they've implemented higher margins for just Teton during the overnight session whereas other routing services like CQG, Rithmic, TT get to enjoy much lower margins?

given how problematic CQG and Rithmic have been, especially recently, it's kind of a joke that AMP is only punishing Teton users while giving CQG and Rithmic users a pass.

Yes we will ask them.

We have given them everything they need to control margin during three different time sessions of the day and all of this is automatically managed without them doing anything. There are three different time sessions controlling margin rates per product. With a recalculation of entry into a new session.

I had setup finished later the same day I made a request through the AMP CP

I have just setup NY VPS to run SC closer to CME. 3 cores, 4GB RAM and SC uses 76 MB :-DDD
Whoever used TradeStation, MultiCharts and others knows what I mean :-D
Entries are made semi-auto
I can compare fill / response speed across various systems (Stonex, IB, CQG, Teton)

I can honestly say after 12 years trading this Teton & Denali thing is just f-amazing. I could not imagine a retail trader having something that powerful
I trade NQ 6 ticks rangebar and the overall smoothness is just fascinating.

@Sierra_Chart Engineering you have made hell of a lot good work with this. Hats down!

Yes it is very fast and we continue to check that the performance is still as fast as we have said.

We looked at the order routing performance about a week ago. It averages about 450 to 550/600 microseconds from when an order is received until the CME responds with the order acknowledgment.

This is below a millisecond. So the order is reaching the exchange, in about 1/4 of a millisecond.

AMP still seems standoffish to Teton for whatever reason. I'm switching from CQG, had no idea it would take a day.

amp's long standing strategy has been to advertise the lowest "commissions" of any introducing broker but then pad the cqg $0.10 per contract per side routing fee with their own additional $0.15 for $0.25 total. they are certainly not motivated to move people to teton's free order routing.

edit: before cqg webapi at $0.10, cqg fix was only $0.05 per contract per side.. so amp was already grumpy when sierrachart deprecated cqg fix, eating into their margins and then over the top grumpy when they offered teton
