Hello, After some time (at least 6 months) I renewed my subscription and I tried to update my Sierrachart installation on Linux over wine (PlayOnLinux) that run fine before. Now, it downloaded the update but didn't install it, I sent you the log, it aborts stating "Maximum number of retries encountered..." |

As you suggested, I used the zip installer in order to install to the latest version, which worked. I also get new data but there seems to be a problem connecting to old data (I cannot properly "Download and delete" past data, getting an error message with a strange red rectangle error message that I have never seen befor) and I can't "Get Symbols" for Binanace, Bitfinex etc. Everything worked fine before the update... Log sent

We are not seeing any requests for previous data in your log file. Please follow the instructions at the following link for how to download more intraday data: Historical Intraday Data (Missing Data / Download Errors / Viewing More Data): Instructions to Download/View More Historical Intraday Data Also, we are not seeing any particular errors in the log. What did the red message state? With regards to not getting the symbol list, are you by any chance doing this in a Sub-Instance? If so, then please try to get the symbols in the Main Instance first and let us know if this works. Reverted back to my backup (2504 64-bit) and it works fine. All inside wine/PlayOnLinux. Any idea how I could get the update running?

Please wait for Pre-Release 2587, which should be out in a day or two. Then see if you have the same issues in that version.

Thanks for your quick response. I was repeating the process (reverted to my old backup and updated to 2586 via the zip method) - it seemed ok until I tried a "Delete and Download" operation on a Chart, that's when I get (sometimes) a "Download Failed Error downloading historical intraday data for XXX Historical data ZLib Error Invalid blocktype " error. You are getting that error since you are on Linux. Please set the following: - "Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> Use Real-Time Data Compression" to "None". - "Global Settings >> Advanced Server Settings >> Support Intraday and Market Depth Files Compression" to "No". Thanks, that already helped a lot ! Now I tried on one chart a "Delete all data and download" - and it didn't work. Red box error again : "Download Failed Error downloading historical intraday data for XXX. Historical data ZLib Error Invalid blocktype" |

I narrowed down the issue, it seems to have been introduced somewhere between v2518 and v2528, I used the zip installer to revert back to previous version, just conserving Sierra4.config (+Accounts4.config) in order to ensure compression being disabled under Sierra Chart Server Settings and Advanced Server Settings. Sent you logs of v2528 (not working properly) and v2518 (working fine), "Red box error" on v2528 : "Invalid code lengths set" Telling is also that between v2518 and v2528, after installation it says something about technical issues with those versions, that they are not supported, the updater automatically starts... has something been broken at that time ? |

Regarding this: ZLib Error Invalid blocktype
It is not related to those compression settings. Instead, refer to: Resolution of Poor Network IO Performance under Linux/Wine Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
