Hi If I have a stop in place, how can I move it to a specific price by typing in the price I want the stop moved to? Note that the stop order is not an attached order - its a stand alone buy or sell stop order that was placed after a position was initiated. Many thanks! |

It's a bit of a process, but you an edit the price by opening the "Trade >> Trade Orders Window" and then selecting the particular order to highlight it, then selecting the "Modify" button at the top of the window. This will open a new page on which you can modify the quantity and price.

Thanks Is there no way of doing from within the chart itself without using the mouse but rather just the keyboard? Regards |

There is a Keyboard Shortcut for "Move Attached Stops to Price", but there is not one for a Stop that is not an attached order. This is going to the case with most of the options that are available, as knowing the order is attached is relatively simple, but to recognize a Stop on its own is more complicated. Still, take a look through the Keyboard Shortcuts for trading and see if something might work for you. The issue is if you use an attached stop, you dont know how big a stop to set because that will change with each trade. How then do you get round that problem please?

Put the initial Stop very far away and then use the Keyboard shortcut for "Move Attached Stops to Price" or whatever keyboard shortcut you want to use. Note that the "Move Attached Stops to Price" moves the stop to the level of the mouse at that time, it does not let you type in a value. Yes, there is a keyboard shortcut for "Move to BreakEven". Refer to the following information regarding the Move to BreakEven functionality: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> BE (BreakEven button) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
