Since you lock the last thread & insist there is nothing wrong w/ it, let's me restated the problem. Version 2550 processes Bid Ask Depth Bar as usual during market trading hours, both historical data and new data received. Once converted to version 2555, version 2555 processed the historical download data fine but shows flat line on new data for whatever reason. The flat line image is captured during the market hours. Look at the 2nd pic when John asked for more info. I also specifically mention that there is one time it did process both data during market hour but then the next Monday morning trading hours came, it showed flat line again so I had to reverse to version 2550. Your statement said: Version 2555 processes historical download data fine. Your statement doesn't address the flat line occurs during market hour which clearly shows on the 2nd pic. How could you miss the info that the price has advanced many bars but the study basically is flat line? The conversion time is exactly where the flat line started. Since your assumption is about display historical downloading data as your statement indicates, you truly miss the bug like looking for your lost key at the light pole just because it's easier to see there. Of course both versions display historical data fine. BUT THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM. I only post this to point out that wrong assumptions are always leading to wrong path, especially for those who're too serious thinking highly of themselves. If you expressed yourself clearly like your last statement then I at least can see how you approach to solve the issue and answer you properly. Instead of nope didn't see it & a bunch of help desk flow chart canned responses. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-10-15 14:55:41

Your issue is not with this study at all. It is very doubtful there is any issue in newer versions related to your issue. Also there is no conversion which takes place. The issue is apparently in your case for unknown reasons, market depth data is not getting recorded in real time. It could be there is an active download which is not completing or taking a long time to complete, or there are other downloads occurring. It does not matter to the study, the source of historical market depth data whether that is being downloaded, or recorded in real time. None of that is relevant to the study at all. We previously gave you specific instructions to follow. However, the best guess we have, is that historical market depth data is being downloaded for that symbol and it is taking a long time or not starting or not completing. So what we want you to do is to set this option to No: Sierra Chart Server Settings: Support Downloading Historical Market Depth Data (Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> General) And then reconnect with File >> Reconnect. Stay in that state, and just manually perform downloads for now. What we will do in the next release is add a new command to cancel outstanding historical market depth data downloads and if you have this problem again and the data starts getting recorded in real time immediately after canceling downloads, then our conclusion is correct. We will then look at why that is happening. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. First, I want to clarify conversion is this case was using as converting 1 version to another, not from one set of data to another since I have no idea of the internal mechanism of your software. Change to updating if it fits your thinking. Secondly, there is an important question to ask is why it only happens w/ version 2555 but not w/ version 2550 because whenever updating to 2555, that flat line happens many time but 1 case on Friday then revering back to flat line the next Monday. However when going back to ver 2550, it doesn't happen. Why? Everything should be the same except the versions so if there is a stuck download/record in 2555, don't you think it won't apply for 2550 when rolling back version? No where that I imply the study is the problem. The study just shows there is a discrepancy of display market depth from 1 version to another. I have neither clue nor speculating the real cause of that problem. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-10-15 23:08:19

Your guess is correct. By canceling the support downloading historical market dept, the study starts displaying the new data. However, it left a few holes in the study display w/o filling it despite using Download Depth Data from Date-Time. It just won't fill in the missing data & basically it becomes a flat line chart if you need more than 15-30min to display the bid/ask market depth state. I'm going back to ver 2550 for my work. Look like 2560 fixes the problem. Not seeing it for 2 days.
